With profound sadness, the Toyland Bistro Basketball mourns the untimely passing of Rene Clert Baterbonia and Divine Adili of the Ateneo Men's Basketball Team.

Today, the basketball community has lost two young athletes whose passion, dedication, and love for the game inspired many. Our hearts go out to their families, friends, teammates, coaches, and the entire Ateneo community during this time of immense grief.
Though their journey was cut short, their impact on the court and in the lives of those who knew them will never be forgotten.

May their memories continue to inspire future generations of athletes.

As a Mindanao-based team, this news deeply breaks our hearts. We are saddened by the passing of former Mindanaon player Rene Baterbonia. It was truly a pleasure and an honor to watch him compete during the NBTC Mindanao Finals.

His talent, passion, and dedication to the game left a lasting impression on everyone who had the chance to see him play.

The NBTC family mourns the untimely passing of alumnus Rene Baterbonia.

Rene, who represented Off-Campus Residences of Davao City, was a member of the 2026 Mindanao Regional Mythical Team and was named as an NBTC All-Star this year.
