Congratulations to Academy's Sipa Brawa who has been named to make his Digicel ExxonMobil Cup debut for the Gulf Isou Rugby League Club! 👏🏉

A product of our Goroka Academy, Sipa represented Goroka at the 2024 PNG NRL Bid National Championships, where his performances earned him selection in the National Academy U19 Men’s squad.

He continued his development through the National Youth Competition, playing for the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis NYC before making the move to the Gulf Isou NYC in 2026.

Now, Sipa takes another important step in his rugby league journey as he graduates to the senior level with his Digicel ExxonMobil Cup debut for the Gulf Isou.

The PNGRFL Academy has successfully completed the BETTER and Youth Development Coaching Courses in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province.

The two-day intensive program brought together 22 Academy coaches from Madang, Lae and Goroka, along with several Goroka Lahanis players.

Day 2 marked the first Youth Development Coaching Course delivered in Papua New Guinea, with Academy head coaches learning about attacking shape and manipulating defensive structures, defensive splits, fullback positioning, tackle identification, ruck speed and other key areas of player development.

It was also great to welcome several new faces into the Academy system, who contributed through thoughtful questions and have now become fully accredited coaches.
