The first half saw the opposition repeatedly break through our defensive line whenever they carried the ball, eventually resulting in a try.

With only a few minutes remaining before halftime, Half Back George Vincent produced a brilliant individual effort. He sold a dummy, stepped off his left foot, stepped again, and then delivered a no-look flick pass to Second Row John Thomas, who crossed under the posts.

The boys came out firing in the second half and produced a dominant defensive effort, denying the opposition any real opportunity to build attacking pressure.

From a set play, Lock and Captain Vincent P**i created the opportunity, finding Vice Captain Mcfil Tapus, who provided the try assist to Fullback Mickey Petro. Mickey Petro sold the dummy, darted towards the try line and powered through the defence to score the try.

Centre Derrick Isau successfully converted the first try from directly in front.

George Vincent attempted the conversion of the second try but was unable to convert.

With approximately 5 minutes remaining, the match was halted following a disruption involving a spectator and the competition officials.

The match officials will discuss the incident and determine whether the remaining 5 minutes will be played to officially complete the match.

Round 7 || Match Recap Highlight || Under 20

Midway through the second half, Bench Utility Half Dedeva Edson produced a crucial clearance with a high bomb kick. The opposition failed to secure the bouncing ball, allowing Five-Eight Millicent Silion to chase through, collect it cleanly and race toward the try line for a try.

Despite giving the opposition several opportunities through errors in our own try-line territory, the boys stood firm. Wave after wave of attacking pressure was met with resilient defence, keeping the opposition from converting their chances.

Our defence held strong until the final whistle.

A Grade || Match Recap Highlight || Round 6

With just seconds left on the clock and the boys trailing by 2 points, dummy half Damien Joseph picked up the ball from the ruck and went short side before throwing in a perfectly weighted grubber kick.

The ball took a heaven-sent bounce, falling perfectly into the hands of Centre John Thomas, who crossed the line to score a full-time siren try!

With the pressure on, Five-Eight Dedeva Edson stepped up and calmly slotted the conversion from the sideline to complete an incredible finish!

Midway through the second half, utility bench half Dedeva Edson stepped up and calmly slotted a penalty conversion, putting valuable points on the board.

From there, the boys dug deep, defending their lead with determination until the full-time siren.

Mcfil, who proudly donned the No. 10 prop jersey for St. Charles Lwanga High School in the NCD Schoolboys Under 19 Grand Final, showed courage, commitment, and leadership on the biggest stage.

At just 18 years old, to step up and represent your school in a Grand Final—while balancing your Grade 11 studies and your rugby league commitments—is already a tremendous achievement.

From joining our feeder touch rugby team Ghost Town at 14, to progressing through our junior grades, making his Governors Cup debut at 17, and now serving as Vice Captain of our A Grade side, your journey continues to make us proud.

The result may not have gone your way, but one Grand Final does not define your journey.
