Ladies and Gentlemen of the Golfing Community,

It is with great honor and pleasure that the Mount Hagen Golf Club (MHGC) announces its Fencing Project Fundraising Golf Tournament. The event will take place at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club on Saturday, 11th September 2026. This one-day challenge will feature a Four-Person Ambrose format across 18 holes.

As one of only three 18-hole courses in Papua New Guinea, MHGC is located in the heart of the Highlands region. It is arguably the most naturally beautiful yet challenging course in the country. Unlike the other two 18-hole courses in the nation’s capital and industrial hub, MHGC has struggled to survive in recent years, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the massive expenses of maintaining an 18-hole course—and receiving no support from local or national governments, sporting organizations, or corporate sponsors—the club has persevered. We overcame these crises through the dedication of our members, key individuals, and our exceptionally generous MHGC President.

While we have maintained the greens, the lack of proper fencing remains our biggest vulnerability. A golf course without secure, modern fencing is only half a course, exposing it to numerous security and operational challenges.

Therefore, on behalf of the committee and members of our resilient club, I extend our deepest respect and appreciation to our action-oriented MHGC President. His proactive leadership successfully secured this date on the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club's fully booked calendar. We also express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Joe Kenken Mok, the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, the Maus Grass Association, the Handicap Association, and everyone working behind the scenes to bring this fundraising project to life.

*REGISTRATION CLOSED:* Team registration closed today at 4:00 PM (1600hrs). No new registrations will be accepted tomorrow.

*PAYMENT PROOF:* If you have already paid your team’s registration fee, please forward copies of your remittance to the Club Manager or myself immediately.

*TEAM DRAW:* The official team draw will be posted tonight at 10:00 PM.

*REFRESHMENTS:* Light refreshments will be provided for all participating players.

*HANDICAPS:* Handicap adjustments for Hagen players will be finalized on game day.

*REGISTRATION UPDATE:* The first update for registered teams will be posted today at 12:00 PM.

*A Note on Our Mission:*
Fencing is currently the most critical project for our Club. Our future goals, rules, and policies can only be effectively achieved and executed if the club grounds are properly secured with professional fencing.
The sponsor’s intent is to use 100% of the registration fees collected from this event to commence the fencing project as outlined on the event poster.

As Hagen golfers, we often show great passion and "craziness" by traveling and paying high fees to compete at other clubs; now is the time to show that same level of support for our own home club.
