πŸ‰ Safe Sport Day | August 8 πŸ‰

At Inclusion Impact Rugby, we believe that the pitch is a place for growth, teamwork, and joyβ€”but none of that is possible without safety.

Today August 8, we are proud to support Safe Sport Day and stand firmly behind the belief that safeguarding should protect every child involved in sport.

Whether they are beginners or seasoned players, every young athlete deserves:
βœ… A voice that is heard
βœ… Environments free from harm
βœ… Coaches and clubs who prioritize their well-being above the scoreboard

Protection isn't a privilegeβ€”it’s a right. We are playing our part to ensure that rugby remains a safe, inclusive space where children can thrive both on and off the field.

Join us in making sport safer for all. 🌟

The Rugby Inclusive Impact Program is funded through the Australian Government's Team Up program.

Building a More Inclusive PNG through Rugby

On July 18th, the Inclusion Impact Rugby Program Lae Festival was a testament to the power of sport. Despite the weather, children displayed unwavering respect and solidarity.

Key highlights included:
βœ… A safe, discrimination-free space for children with disabilities.
βœ… Meaningful integration with juveniles from Erap Boys Town and CIS Buimo.
βœ… A celebration of unity and diversity in sport.

This is the result of the IIRP staff's dedication to fostering values and safe spaces all year long.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners: the Australian Government through the Team Up Programs , Australian High Commission Papua New Guinea, Australian Consulate-General, Lae, Oceania Rugby, and SCRUM PNG

We look forward to developing safe, accessible sports venues for everyone in Morobe Province and across PNG.

🌧️ What a day for the Inclusive Impact Rugby Program Lae Community Rugby Festival! πŸ‰πŸ’™

Despite the rain pouring down from 9am to 1pm on July 18th, the spirit of rugby never stopped! It was incredible to see Schools, Communities, Morobe Rugby Clubs, Juveniles from Erap Boys Town & CIS Buimo, and the Morobe Inclusive Education Resource Centre come together.

We were honored to have 22 children with disabilities participate alongside everyone from U10 to U18β€”both Boys and Girls. A massive shoutout to the children, parents, teachers, coaches, and officials who stayed on the field to make sure everyone got a game and went home safely. The weather couldn't dampen your passion! πŸ™Œ

Sincere Thanks to our Supporters:

It was an honor to welcome the Erap Boys Town U18 team to CIS Buimo to compete against our CIS Buimo Juvenile U18 Boys. The adverse weather conditions could not dampen the energy or determination on the field, as both teams displayed exceptional discipline and camaraderie, completing every scheduled game.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners who made this possible:
