Out The Gate Off-road

When building our dream truck, we had all of our passions in mind, one of the most important being health and fitness.
We manage to incorporate a gym setup into the build, giving us the freedom to workout anywhere we want.

This particular workout was ontop of Puwheke hill and probably the coolest place we’ve ever done a workout!

Some decisions in life are hard.

Deciding to bu**er off out of the rat race and build the truck of our dreams wasn’t one of them.

Two years living on the road, loads of beaches, a couple of side quests and a whole lot of freedom later, we’d do it all over again.

Bu**er following the path everyone else is on.

This was a fun memory 😅 Driving down Karioitahi beach towards the Port Waikato inlet. Enjoying the scenes, watching the fishermen, cruising the beach, until…… Louis reckons “man, the sand is quite soft. Better turn around…”

Well, started turning the truck around and then bam. Stuck in the soft sand. Tide rapidly rising. But not to worry! A quick deflation of these road tyres and the green beast popped out of his tracks and lives another day.

Bring on more memories and happy endings like this!

Who needs a ladder when you’ve got the power of positive thinking??! (Maybe a muscly man can help too) 😆

Most of the time if we are just stopping by, Louis and I won’t bother getting the balcony and ladder out. Some would call it laziness, but honestly it takes more effort getting into the truck without it!

Maybe we just love a challenge 😆

Questionable decisions? Absolutely.
Native bush, salty dogs, and a Unimog that definitely thinks it’s the main character.

You can’t sit with us… unless you’ve got snacks. 🐾🌊

Everyone knows the factory Unimog lighting is an absolute shambles… luckily we’ve sorted that 😅💡

What started as wanting better spotlights has slowly turned into a full lighting overhaul that’s made life on the truck so much easier 👌🏽

• Dual Colour LED Scene Lamps / Flood
• Model 72 combination tail lights

Safe to say the Mog can now light up half the North Island 💡

After witnessing Louis move this Two Tonne container only using a truck winch, hand tools and truck jack, I now believe that the pyramids could have been built by humans!
