Hawkeās Bay half! Where do I startā¦..! What a race! I couldnāt have asked for a better race. After kerikeri in November I really wanted to āenjoyā this one. Even though I ran a sub 90 which was the goal in Kerikeri I paced it so bad ended up stopping 3 times and was in pain like Iāve never experienced before. I just wanted a sub 90 some what pain free. I felt very good, and when I got to 20km and looked at my watch I pushed for that last km! So happy with a 1.26.37!! Never even dreamed of that! On a good day was hoping for a sub 1.29!
Itās been a great training block but have had a hamstring ni**le since last August!!! But weāve managed the training and built the speed on the longer runs! Huge thanks to and for the training plans and coaching I couldnāt have done it without! Coaches need coaches!!! Itās always good to get a professionals help with things and to have a plan to follow! Now for the new goals!
Never too young to start training! Kids copy everything we do! This little one loves being in the gym with me and clients and copies everything they do! For him exercise is normal as thatās what he sees everyday! I feel so lucky he will grow up thinking exercise is the norm!

Round the bays 2026! With 90km wind gusts was always going to be a battle but a great run and felt strong and wind blown! So great to have mum on the start line with me!! This was a special one!
How track sessions look!
Always start with mobility, activation, warm up, drills and then into the session! As someone who seems to pick up tendon issues easily since giving birth warm up and activation is very important to help keep them at bay! The drills Iāve been doing are to prepare my tendons for the load of a speed session! Everyoneās choice of drills activation are unique to them these are a few that work for me!
Pre running activation!
Hereās my current pre run activation after Iāve done mobility! Start with some activation then into some plyos to get the tendons and joint ready for the miles! I just do one sent as donāt want to fatigue anything!

Kerikeri half! Running on my sons first birthday was very significant for me! A year on from having him being able to line up and run with an ambitious goal was very special!
So happy to crack the sub 90! Was tough out there but very proud to have achieved that and have my biggest fan waiting at the finish was even more special!
Excited for next years goals feel so motivated to see what we can do! Thanks to and for the training and support!! ā¤ļø

Braved the 90 km winds to run the Hutt 10km! Was pretty tough conditions but pleased with my race coming in 2nd women and taking my buddy to collect my prize with me! Hopefully one year heāll be running with me! Exactly 2 months until kerikeri half but this was good character building! Yes I wanted to stop many times š
Track Wednesdays!
and had me on 7X1km this morning! Off 1 min recovery, tough but such a stunning morning at the track! Sun was out and no wind! Also baby sleeping better so definitely had more energy!
Some days you feel amazing and others feel a straggle and thatās life! So many factors play a role in how we feel when we train, Iāve had an annoying hamstring for last few days which definitely affected my stride but like I was told when do runners ever feel 100% pain free???
