Why MiniGP machines?

Machines such as Kayo, Ohvale, PowerCorsa Motorsport Delirios all share key attributes that Road Racers need to know.

You want to improve your lap times on 600cc/1000cc machines awesome. How much does it cost you to go and do a test day or trackday? And how many laps do you get at those days?

MiniGP machines operate at a fraction of the cost of your big bike. Here are some stats:

Oil capacity: 1L, changed every 5-10hours depending on model
Tyres: On a 160cc last 25 hours+ of running - RRP for a pair of Pirelli Moto NZ slicks is less than $399
Fuel: less than 5L per day

Next the cost of MiniGP Racing and trackday entry is roughly half that of a standard trackday. The tracks are far more technically meaning you practice your skills of CORNERING far more often. And you complete far more laps per session.

Resale value: MiniGP machines have great second hand resale value. As regulations prohibit engine modifications and suspension upgrades the $$ you put into a MiniGP Machine is not wasted away when it come time to sell one.

Marc Chappell Racing Clocked a Top GPS speed of 139.1KPH at Manfeild on Sunday.......

Thats on a bike that is 93cm tall with 10 inch wheels and around 13HP..... (160cc 2 valve machine).

The 190CC Daytona machines push out 25hp.

FYI - There are covered pits and club rooms to watch all the action from, rain or shine 👍🏻😊

No matter the weather (bar a Cyclone....) we run our events during the wet or dry!

We have people travelling from Auckland coming to our event - all our hire machines have both dry tyres and full race Wet tyres.

Chappys experience is that you learn MORE at wet training days - as you focus on LEARNING over SPEED.

We will have a mechanic available working on our hire machines to ensure they are ready to rock!

Level 4 Racers Edge has only 2 spots left! our other levels have places to fill.

Don't forget we run a funday track day in the afternoon - super affordable at $60 if you have your own machine and gear. A 110cc machine is $160 including all the gear and entry.

Rather late, but I thought I’d better wrap up Rounds 3 & 4 of NZSBK 2026. Had to hit the books as soon as we finished Round 4 — it’s NCEA Level 1 for me this year at college 📚

**Round 3 – Hampton Downs**
One of my favourite rounds of the season!

• Qualified – 4th – 2:10.8
• Race 1 – 5th – 2:09.8
• Race 2 (Aaron Slight) – 7th – 2:11.07
• Race 3 – 6th – 2:12.2

I was stoked to qualify 4th, especially being my first time riding the International Circuit. Last time I was here for AMCC Round 3, I “found” the gravel trap twice 😅

Race 1 was fairly uneventful and managed to drop another second off my lap time.

Race 2 was EPIC!! Close racing all the way with my Elevate teammates Troy Stephens Racing 28 & Samuel Chave Racing, and 'new kid on the block' Tyler Lambarth, constantly swapping positions. I especially enjoyed out-braking them into Turn 2 😏

Lap 5 brought a close call into Turn 2 when Sam braked earlier than I expected while I was in his slipstream. Luckily, I managed to avoid him, Troy, and Tyler, kept the bike upright, and stayed on track. Unfortunately, I lost the tow from the group and wasn’t able to catch back up.

I got a great start in Race 3, but had to run wide into Turn 2 to avoid another rider who was having bike issues. That dropped me off the group, and despite pushing hard, I couldn’t close the gap again.

Sunday was also International Women’s Day, and I was honoured to join the other female riders and top riders from the series signing autographs for fans. It was a completely new experience for me — definitely nerve-racking at first — but something I really enjoyed.

**Round 4 – Taupo International Motorsport Park**

• Qualified – 7th – 2:02.3
• Race 1 – 6th – 2:03.7
• Race 2 (TT) – 7th – 2:01.4
• Race 3 – 6th – 2:01.2

This was a tough weekend overall. It was my first time racing at Taupō, and I also wasn’t on my usual bike. We tried a range of different setups throughout the weekend, but just couldn’t quite find the sweet spot. Despite the changes, I wasn’t able to match the pace of the front runners.

It was definitely a test of mental perseverance, but I still really enjoyed learning the track and taking away valuable experience.

One of the highlights of the weekend was watching my little brother Nathan Chappell Racing, along with our cousin Marc Chappell Racing and the other Minigp Academy NZ riders, cutting laps during the lunch break with Ashton Hughes. Pretty cool seeing the next generation out there having fun.

Looking back, it’s amazing what we’ve achieved in such a short time. Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way — I can’t wait to see what comes next 👊🏁

***AUCKLAND JUNIOR MOTORCYCLE OPPORTUNITY***

City of sails - we keep getting asked when we are coming back to put on “have a gos” for Auckland juniors.

Due to the current fuel “climate” the cost of us getting there has doubled. Therefore this presents an opportunity for someone to become our Auckland promoter!

We can put on our super successful “have a go” sessions for juniors. We provide everything incl bikes and riding gear. We can then run a Minigp and bucket bike track day for people who want more riding.

What we need:

1) Assistance with travel and accommodation.
2) a person to assist with registration and suiting up juniors during the have a go sessions.

We will provide everything else!

What you will get is naming and promotional rights for the event, based at Rosebank rd kart track. You will enable kiwi juniors to get into road racing through a proven professional program.
