IRON ARMOUR ACADEMY × COOK ISLANDS 🇨🇰 Iron Armour Academy has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cook Islands Residents representative programme, under the umbrella of and officially endorsed by Cook Islands Rugby League. It is fitting that we announce this partnership during Cook Islands Language Week — ‘Epetoma o te reo Māori Kūki ‘Āirani — celebrating Cook Islands language, culture, identity and connection. The agreement was signed in Rarotonga by Iron Armour Academy Co-Founder & Head of Pathways Marcell Putaura, alongside Cook Islands Rugby League President Charles Carlson and Development & Competition Manager Dion Nepia. This December, Iron Armour will travel to Rarotonga with 100+ athletes, coaches and support staff for a week-long programme culminating in a representative Test Series against the Cook Islands Residents. But this is about much more than competition. The partnership will focus on athlete mentoring, high-performance coaching, coach development and genuine pathway opportunities, while strengthening the connection between our communities. Through Iron Armour’s relationships with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and other professional organisations, pathway personnel will also help expose young athletes to the standards and expectations of elite sport. Our developing Netball Programme will also be represented on the December tour, with further Cook Islands partnerships across other sporting codes expected to be announced. This is only the beginning. Developing talent. Building futures.
