1st XI
Randalstown 1XI faced Instonians at home on Friday night. The town girls started strong with great passing and attacking play. In the second quarter Instonians stepped up to the challenge putting Randalstown under pressure and scored.
The match was exciting with end to end play, with both teams attacking well however in the final quarter Instonians secured the win with a late second goal. The final result 2 nil to Instonians.
2nd XI
Randalstown faced Pegasus for the third time this season on Saturday afternoon. The weather was horrific with high winds, rain and some hail for good measure! Despite the conditions both teams battled through, with pegs making a commanding start with a shot on goal within a few seconds saved by keeper Gianna Lavery. Randalstown faced a heavily defensive first quarter, never really getting going with their passing play. The second quarter saw more of the same with two goals against them in quick succession. After the break Randalstown rallied and had more possession, troubling the Pegasus circle. Pegasus then won a corner which they successfully converted. Not to be kept down Randalstown kept battling back, and midfield Erin Murdock made an amazing solo run from inside the Randalstown half. She took on several players, including the keeper dragging the ball out to the right to slot home the goal. A penalty corner was won shortly after with Laura fleck just missing wide of the post. Randalstown continued their attack and a shot from the top of the circle from Nicole Mott was tapped home by Stacey Catterson. Randalstown narrowly missed equalising with a ball saved off the line by a Pegasus defender. The score finished 3-2. Thanks to coach Davy and umpire Jonny.
3rd XI
Town 3s faced priorians at home on a wet and miserable Saturday. The girls saw themselves 3-0 down by the first quarter after a quick start by the visitors.
Despite this, the girls picked themselves up and worked hard as a team to chase down a goal of their own.
Some great passing at times and a lot of determination and definitely a massive improvement from the first quarter. There were several penalty corners and opportunities, however they were denied any reward by the Priorians keeper.
A huge thanks to coach Andy and umpire Jonny. Wishing our injured player a speedy recovery.
