Haruātai Park truly has it all: pool, playground, pump-track, and coming soon… a half-pipe! 🛹 spring and summer are lookin' really good right about now 👇

It’s the wonderful case of the travelling mini-ramp! After serving the Waikanae skate community during their skatepark refresh, our much-loved mini-ramp is now making its way to Ōtaki. If you're in Waikanae, it's time to get one last skate in 💙

Haruātai Park, near the basketball court, will be the mini-ramp’s new home. With new lights recently installed at the park, this epic combo means the skating doesn’t have to stop when the sun goes down. Perfect for getting a few after-school or after-work runs in!

Friendly reminder for all parents, caregivers and guardians 🫶🏽 Littlies under four need to wear a swim or aqua nappy at all times when they're in the water. When it comes to a potential code-brown scenario, we take a better-to-be-safe-than-sorry approach 💩

A number two in either the kids or main pool means an immediate closure so our team can remove the contamination, then treat and test the water before the coast is clear to reopen.

It's a bit of a bummer for everyone, so popping on a swim nappy is the easiest way to help us avoid a poo-mergency ruining the fun for everyone.

Forgot to pack a swim nappy? We've got you! There are spares you can nab from the friendly faces at reception for the cheap and cheerful price of $1.60 😇

For fun whatever the weather, this is your regular reminder to get the kids out of your hair and into the pool for weekend SPLASH!

Everyone loves weekend SPLASH! From 1pm – 4.30pm every:
🌊 Saturday
🌊 Sunday
🌊 School holidays
🌊 AND on public holidays…

… we pull out all the stops and pump up the inflatables to make every weekend a winning one for the tamariki. Splash ya later!

We are feeling the aroha Ōtaki! Why? Because you love us, just as much as we love you 🥲🫶🏽

From the start of 2026, here's a wee snapshot of Ōtaki Pool by the numbers:
💦 34,819 visits
💦 1,599 Aquafit attendances
💦 2,784 relaxing moments in our spa/sauna
💦 1514 ice creams enjoyed

That's a whole lot of laps, slides, swims and splashes! Given the temperature recently, we'll be checking back to see if we can beat our ice cream record in six months' time 💚

We love seeing your happy faces making a splash, chasing a personal best, catching up with your crew in the spa or sauna, or getting dipped from the dunk tank! It's always great to have you. Get the most out of your next visit and see everything your puna kaukau has to offer 👉🏽 www.kapiticoastaquatics.co.nz

Be the talk of the puna kaukau while you rock the latest in swimwear fashions!

Our model makes the poolside their runway, sporting the Noxen 100% cotton Hooded Poncho in pink (or maybe it's orange), paired with the Arena swim-goggles and a chic, navy blue hat.

Here at Ōtaki Pool, style goes hand-in-hand with having a good time, so if you're feeling either under or overdressed at your next swim, sauna or spa session, float over to our aquatic apparel boutique and browse our latest range of pool appropriate ready-to-wear garments.

Visit the shop next to our reception and leave the pool dripping with envy.

Kia ora Ōtaki! Do you live locally and love swimming at our pools? Now's the time to help shape the future of our district by sharing your thoughts on Kāpiti Coast District Council's Long-term Plan (LTP). Complete the survey before midnight, Sunday 26 July 👉🏽 https://haveyoursay.kapiticoast.govt.nz/LTP27-37

Each year, more than 300,000 people visit our aquatic centres which are key Council facilities. If community and recreation spaces like ours are important to you, remember to have your say.

Every three years, Council prepares a LTP that sets out what it will deliver over the next 10 years and how it will be funded. With limited resources, it's important they understand what matters most to our community. So, grab a cuppa and take a few minutes to complete the survey, your feedback will help shape a practical and affordable plan for the future of Kāpiti.

With swimming spots all over town, being in the water is part of who we are! It matters that our tamariki have the skills and confidence to have fun while being safe in the wai.

Summer will be here before you know it, so enrol quicksmart while there's still spaces 👉🏽 www.kapiticoastaquatics.co.nz/swimkapiti/learn-to-swim/

⚠️ Heads up, Coastlands Aquatic Centre will be closed at times this weekend to host a Swimming Wellington swim meet 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Closure times:
🏊🏼‍♀️ From 3.30pm Saturday 18 July. Reopening as normal Sunday morning.

If you still fancy a swim during this time, Ōtaki Pool will be open as usual including SPLASH! until 4.30pm. Visit the pools website to see their lane schedule www.kapiticoastaquatics.co.nz/Otaki

Hosting events like this in our aquatics facilities gives our local swim legends the opportunity to train, race and compete with the best in the region. Good luck to everyone competing, smash it!

Being in the know is the way to go, e hoa mā 💦 Want instant updates about closures, maintenance, events and more at Ōtaki Pool?

Download the free Antenno app to get the most important notifications 👉 www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/Antenno coz' there's nothing more hōhā than showing up for a swim, spa or a sauna only to find it's closed for... ahem scheduled maintenance 😞

Once you sign up to Antenno, select 'Your Places' and add Ōtaki Pool (plus any other spots in Kāpiti you care about). You’ll then get push notifications straight to your device so you’re always in the loop.

Antenno is also handy for letting Kāpiti Coast District Council know about things like a broken streetlight or burst water main. Need a hand? Pop into reception and our friendly team can tautoko.
