Sav bought back the red wrangler in 2013 and after a bit of a rebuild the Sav and Scotty decided they would give the Mainland Winch Comp another go. The goal that year was to get out there and enter all 5 rounds in the outlaw class. Ironman 4X4,
Superwinch and EFS (suspension) were the main sponsors with The 4 X 4 Centre, Newport Light Engineering and a few support crew as our maintenance and mech
anical team. The jeep Wrangler TJ, standard motor, standard diffs, custom suspension arms and full roll cage. Raised wheel arches to fit 35inch silverstone tyres on beadlock rims. Superwinch 12.5 lb Talon winch and EFS 2 inch suspension. 2 years running they won the Mainland Series in the Outlaw Class and held onto the NZ1 title also. Those 2 years they ran as "Team Ironman" and Team Superwinch". Sav retried after the Opposum Palace Challenge held easter weekend 2015. Scotty took on another driver (Gordon Jackett) at the beginning of 2015. We followed these guys thru 2015 and they won the Open Class of the Mainland Series. They also took the NZ1 title for that class held in Manukau.
2016 bring new challenges. Scotty has bought himself a Jeep Cherokee and is turning this into his personal winch challenge truck for 2016. Along for the ride and co-driving is his daughter Megan. We entered Outlaw Class and worked freaken gard as a team, Megan jumping in the driver's seat when needed. We took out 1st in Outlaw and got the NZ1 title. Megan being 1st female to accomplish that title.
2017, 2018 and 2019 James Keys jumped in
the co-drivers seat. We won Outlaw Class for 2 years and then Open Class in 2019.
2020 covid-19 hit and with James retired Magoo jumped in the co-drivers seat. We only managed to enter Christchurch and we won that.
2021 was a no go for team Superwinch. 2022 ??
