Our members of Achilles Hawkesbay are here to help anyone's journey, whether it be a 5km run/walk around parkrun or signing up for a 10km event with fellow Achilles members.

Both our Chapter leads have been involved with Disability Sport and Recreation Hawkes Bay from helping out at a swimming event and help with the fundraiser at the Light Show at Splash Planet.

That’s 17-year-old Amy’s advice to other young people who might be nervous about giving sport a go.

Through Disability Sport and Recreation Hawke’s Bay, Amy has found more than opportunities to swim and play boccia. She’s found friendship, confidence, community and a place where she can truly be herself. 🏊‍♀️🏅

Amy's already achieving big things and has plenty more goals ahead, but for her, the best part of sport is simple:

A beautiful bluebird day at Taupo Marathon! A Pinnacle event for Achilles International New Zealand, today 80 athletes and guides participated across all distances. Along with the smiles, camaraderie and fun on course and off, some PBs were achieved and many new friends made!
Al smashed out the 21.35km with Michelle, Bo smoked the 10km with Kevin from Christchurch, Camille cruised with Dot from Auckland and Jacqui speedwalked 10km with Murray from Hamilton - amazing team!! 💛
