We love swimming outdoors and appreciate having free access to the Carterton District Council and South Wairarapa District Council pools, but sadly they are not open all year round. Thankfully there is a wee indoor pool in Carterton that is open to the community for 12 months of the year 😉

🫶💕 POOL PEOPLE Meet Jason. Jason is the building upgrade lead and is responsible for liaising with Carterton District Council, architect Don Jamieson, and the various amenity and building suppliers.
Jason says it is "the amazing people who keep the indoor pool open and kids learning to swim all year round in Carterton" that is his primary motivation for being involved with the pool project.
"It is certainly not the state of the building! I moved to Carterton 15 years ago and started lane swimming, then training, and eventually I was drawn into the project to assist with engineering and design matters. The facility is an astonishing achievement for a small community and has provided immeasurable benefit for so many locals for almost 40 years.
"I am using my skills as a civil engineer, project manager and strategic planner to support the project through the design process. This project is not for the faint-hearted but I can relate that to the challenges and rewards of my career in the Army. I take my hat off to Russ Geange who has almost single-handedly kept the pool going for all these years.
"If you need a challenge and want to work with a great team -- get in touch."
