Round 1 kicked off at the Kerikeri Netball Centre today with the first full length games of the season. The Mako teams looked sharp in their uniforms (and on the court - taking two wins from three!).

Today Kerikeri Mako Netball’s three women’s teams make their official debut at the Kerikeri Netball Centre in Round 1 of Presidents Cup grading.

Each team will play three short, fast-paced games — so expect plenty of action as we finally hit the courts.

With over a dozen teams and a growing kete of generously donated prizes, we can already tell this is going to be a special tournament.

We also have some awesome kai stalls confirmed to keep you fed, hydrated and caffeinated!

We’ll be taking more entries up until the 15th May (or until spots are filled) so there’s still a chance for you and your team to be a part of the day to support JR and her whanau.

Our wider netball community has recently received some tough news. JR Hogan, who many of us know through sport and netball, is facing a major health battle.

To show our support, Kerikeri Mako Netball is organising a netball tournament on Sunday 31st May in honour of JR and to help rally the community around her.

We’d love existing club teams and/or groups of friends to register, and any businesses or individuals who may be willing to donate prizes for the day to get in touch.
