⚽️⚽️⚽️ BIg day tomorrow as we Celebrate 40 Years of Hāwera FC. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

40 years ago with hard work, determination and long hours Hāwera Soccer Club was formed from the almalgation of Hāwera Old Boys and Aztec Soccer Clubs. Egmont JFA (Burnside & Warriors Juniors) also became part of the newly formed Club. We've been through a lot of changes throughout the 40 years and it's fantastic to look back at how far we have come and celebrate the Football Club we are today.

⚽️ Tomorrow we start the day with Central Football Taranaki End of Season Junior Tournament from 9:00am
⚽️ At 12:45pm our Division II men's team have their final game of the season against Moturoa AFC.
⚽️ Last event on the day is at 2:45pm when our Master's Team plays their final game also, against Inglewood AFC.

⚽️ Then on Sunday to top off a great weekend of celebration our Women's team head north, but not far, up to Eltham to take on the ladies in green. It what is always are great contest and a fitting end to our 40th Year Celebration.

Hope to all see you at Turuturu Park on Saturday and Taumata Park Eltham on Sunday.

Congratulations Lyneva Wagapu-Tuza for selection into the Solomon Island U16 Women's Official Squad competing in the OFC U16 Championship in September.

A huge achievement Lyneva, all of that hard work and commitment has paid off.

🇸🇧SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT | The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is pleased to announce the official squad that will represent Solomon Islands at the upcoming OFC U-16 Women's Championship 2026, here in Honiara.

The tournament will run from 6th to 19th September 2026, and our young female footballers are eager to compete on home soil against the best in the Oceania region.

This is a proud moment for women's football in our country, and we encourage all football fans to come out and support the next generation of Solomon Islands stars.

In Memory of John Clegg

Hāwera Football Club is saddened to hear of the passing of John Clegg, a much-loved and respected part of our club’s history.
John played a significant role during the years when Hāwera Football Club was competing in Central League football in the 1990s, serving as manager and giving his time, energy and support to the club.

Football was also a family affair for John, with both of his sons, Aaron and Justin (Dusty), playing for Hāwera Football Club.

John’s contribution to our club went beyond the football field. During his time as manager of BNZ, John generously donated the bell that still hangs in our clubrooms and is rung to this day at our club bar. It remains a wonderful reminder of John and his connection to Hāwera Football Club.

Our thoughts are with Francie, Aaron, Justin (Dusty), their families and all of John’s loved ones at this very sad time.

Thank you, John, for your contribution, friendship and lasting legacy at Hāwera Football Club. You will be remembered.
