EASTLAND BADMINTON CHAMPIONS!

A massive congratulations to our Gisborne Intermediate Badminton players, who brought home the overall top school trophy at the Eastland Badminton Intermediate Tournament today!

Our players delivered outstanding performances across the board:

Guy Wright & Harry McPhail: Undefeated in the boys' singles AND went completely undefeated together in the doubles!

Elayna Ang: Won all of her singles matches in the girls' division!

Amory Labuschagne: Secured a great singles victory, and paired up with Elayna to take 2 out of 4 doubles wins!

Way to represent GIS with incredible skill and determination, team! We are so proud of you all! Smash-hit effort!

T1 Rugby Cancelled

The fields are very wet and the conditions are not nice so T1 rugby has been cancelled.

School as normal today.

Fast 5 Netball - Tuesday's draw

T1 Rugby - Wednesday 19th August - Student must be registered

T1 Rugby attempt 2 this Wednesday 19th August, starting at 9:30am through to 1:30pm at the Oval. The students will meet at school at 8:30am in the hall before being organised and then walking over to the Oval.

Key information:

Correct PE Uniform to be worn to school and during the tournament

Boots or sneakers to play in.

Take a school jacket to wear between games

Cell phones are to be handed in to the office as per usual school rules

Water bottle

Snacks and lunch for the day.

SEVENS - CANCELLED

Unfortunately the bad weather is not play ball and the tournament is cancelled. Possibly postponed to a later date but this will be discussed in the next few weeks.

Students that have already arrived can leave their bags in Matua Wayne's office for the day and attend school as normal.

🏆 Campion Exchange 2026 Success! 🏆

What a fantastic sports exchange with our friends from Campion College! Our students represented Gisborne Intermediate across Football, Rugby, Netball, and Hockey.

It was an awesome opportunity to get out into the community and put our RISE values into action. We saw outstanding displays of Respect, Integrity, Self-Management, and Excellence all day long—our students were a true credit to our school! 🌟

The Highlights:

While the scoreboard showed mixed results, the real win was seeing everyone out there giving it 100% and creating great opportunities for students from both schools.

Campion Exchange / Badminton Umpires

A reminder that all students involved in the Campion Exchange must be at school at the normal time and go directly to class. Students will leave class to meet in the hall at 9:40 AM. All sports except hockey are hosted at Campion College.

Badminton Umpires: Meet in Matua Wayne's office at 8:30 AM. You will return to school later in the afternoon.

Remember to bring/wear:
* Full school uniform (wear to school)
* PE uniform
* All personal sports gear required, including correct footwear
* Water bottle
* Snacks and lunch
