Congratulations to our local winners April, Lachlan and Charlotte, of the Design Your Dream Bike Competition and a big shout-out to regional winner Jordan, who rode away on a brand new bike! 🚲🎉
Jordan had outgrown his old bike, so we were especially pleased to help him get back on two wheels.
The EcoFest Competition challenged tamariki to create the most creative, wild and delightful bike designs imaginable. Prize winners received a fun pack of bike goodies including handlebar streamers, glow-in-the-dark tyre valve caps, a flying pig handlebar decoration, a bell and a puncture repair kit.
Thanks to everyone who entered and shared their amazing ideas!

We're excited to introduce Audrey Banach-Salas, who has joined the team as Bike Hub Coordinator at New Lynn.
Originally from Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington, Audrey brings nearly seven years of experience in bike mechanic and community-focused roles, helping people build confidence, learn practical skills, and get more out of cycling.
What Audrey enjoys most is working alongside members of the community and empowering people through practical knowledge.
Over the coming weeks, Audrey will be working closely with Mark Swift as he transitions out of the Coordinator role. Mark will be staying on as a casual kaimahi. A huge thank you to Mark for everything he has contributed to the Hub in his Coordinator role. We're glad he'll still be part of the Bike Hubs whānau. 😊
Please join us in welcoming Audrey to New Lynn! 👋🚲💙

In April, Owairaka School Principal Sheryl donated half a dozen identical bikes with 20-inch wheels that were surplus to her school’s needs. The bikes were in good condition, needed minimal service & are already out there being enjoyed by other young riders.
Thanks so much Sheryl!
