🤯 Had Samoana - Christian & Austin sent to me. My mind is officially blown as a Māori/Croat !! 😍🎶 Mīharo whānau !!!

My outfit has me sooo proud 🥹❤️🖤🇭🇷| My 1st time attending an Indigenous fashion-focused event, and it only felt right to tell a story of hertiage through what I wore 💌

Alongside my heru, handmade kāuri gum earrings, and taonga made by my uncle, I created my own version of a body chain. I wanted to incorporate a gold chest piece, inspired by the beautiful gold adornments often seen in Croatian tradition (huge thank you to my friend Sabrina for sharing her knowledge 😮‍💨❤️).

I attached pāua, kāuri gum, and faux red coral—a small reflection of both Māori and Croatian heritage coming together.

I kept the outfit simple with black so the details could speak for themselves. Alongside my heru, which holds a lot of significance in Māori culture, I also added a lace piece at the very last minute as a nod to the veils , shoulder fabrics and head coverings traditionally worn in Croatian culture.

Not bad for a under qualified fashionista I reckon❤️💌
