After winning the toss, Riders decided to bowl first and 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 119. Once again, the Ceylon Riders bowling unit was back to their best, as Asanka De Silva medium-fast spell 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝟰 𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨, while Nalin and Upul shared two wickets each.

In the chase, Rajitha’s 𝟰𝟬*(𝟮𝟰) and 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗮’𝘀 𝟯𝟱(𝟰𝟮) made it an easy win, as 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗔.

𝟯 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘀 and 𝟭𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 pulled the victory towards Ceylon Riders after scoring a magnificent 𝟲𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟰 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀.

Skipper Nalin Kumara won the toss and elected to bat first. Recording the 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗧𝟮𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆, 𝟳𝟯-𝟭 (𝟲.𝟬) for Ceylon Riders, 𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙉𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙨 showed almost fireworks at Avondale Racecourse as he scored 61 𝙞𝙣 24 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨. Thimeera and Hasitha Eranda batted well, but a lower-order collapse stopped Riders at a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟴𝟵.

While chasing, at one point 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙤 𝙆𝙞𝙬𝙞 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 42 𝙞𝙣 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 30 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 6 𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙, but the 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐛𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 came in place and pulled the game back to our side. Brilliant bowling from Asanka De Silva(2-13 in 4 overs), Tharindu Roshanthika(1-19 in 4 overs) and of course 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗮, who just let the last over go for 3 runs and one wicket, 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐲 𝟕 𝐫𝐮𝐧s.

After losing the toss, the Riders were invited to bat first and found themselves in early trouble, with the top order collapsing to 34/4. Rajitha Wickramarathne played a brilliant innings to steady the ship and rebuild the momentum.

An outstanding unbeaten partnership of 89 runs off 48 balls between Nishal Dayarathna and Shehan Charitha lifted the total to a 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝟏𝟖𝟒.
