Creating this post has made me reflect on the past 5 years and realise how far I’ve come with the business.

I still feel like I don’t know what I’m doing sometimes, but I know that what I’m doing makes me happy and I love helping out my clients! ✍🏻

Writing blog posts and creating social media content for businesses I believe in and charities who support causes I care about is way more fulfilling than any office job I’ve ever had! (Obviously 😅)

I know it’s super quick and easy to ask ChatGPT or Gemini to write your content for you. It can chuck out a full blog post or 10 Instagram captions in mere seconds - but it can just never seem to get it quite right. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I can’t emphasise enough how important research is when it comes to preparing a blog post.

It might be tempting to skip the research step, especially if you already know a topic fairly well. But avoiding it altogether could be a big mistake.

Having a poorly researched blog post with incorrect or misleading information will set you apart from other bloggers, and not in a good way.

It’s essential that you make sure your content clearly and accurately gets your message across, answers a problem for your reader, and directly reflects the title of the post.

I’m baaack…

I’ve been pretty busy over the last year. I took some time out to care for my family when my mum got sick and then sadly passed away in June. It’s been a total rollercoaster of a year and when I took an impromptu step back from the public element of the business in late 2021, I never expected to be lying low for so long.

Although I’ve been completely AWOL from social media all this time, I’ve somehow managed to keep my clients ticking along in the background, doing little bits of work for them amongst everything else. And I am so grateful that they’ve been patient with me and kept me going.

To keep myself sane since losing my mum, I ended up visiting 8 new countries during 2022, as well as 4 new provinces of Canada. I’ve also spent the last couple of months revamping the business, shifting it to focus more on blog post writing, both for myself and for clients. I’m also still offering other services assisting with clients’ social media accounts, but the bulk of my attention will be on producing quality, search engine optimised blog posts.
