Big Gee is really starting to get the hang of this riding thing! 🐴
He’s now finding a lovely, relaxed walk and is even starting to come down onto the bit and carry himself nicely.
Today was another big milestone with his first trot under saddle, and he handled it like an absolute pro! 🌟
It’s been so rewarding watching Gee grow in confidence with every ride.

Big Gee had his second ride under saddle today and was an absolute champ! 🐴🤎
He stood beautifully at the mounting block, was great while mounting, and walked off nicely. He was much more relaxed throughout the ride and is already starting to understand what this new ridden life is all about.

Gee is ticking over nicely and had his first ride under saddle today 🐴✨
He was a little tense to begin with, but as the ride went on he started to relax and settle in. We kept things short, sweet and positive for his first experience.
He’s also been showing us some pretty fancy footwork on the lunge, with an eye-catching trot and even popping into a wee canter! 👀
A really positive start for Big Gee — we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses over the next few weeks 💙

🐴 New Arrival — Meet Gee! 🐴
Introducing Gee, aka “Big Gee”… although there’s definitely nothing big about him 😂
Gee has recently retired from racing and has arrived at A.W.M Equine to begin his retraining journey and, eventually, find himself a special new home. 🤍

🐴 Trainer’s Tip of the Week – Horses Prone to Ulcers
For horses that are prone to ulcers, try giving them a small fibre-based feed 20–30 minutes before exercise.
Having fibre in the stomach before work can help provide a protective “mat” over the stomach contents and reduce acid splashing onto the more sensitive upper portion of the stomach during exercise.
Joe here gets Fibre Protect around 30 minutes before any work as part of his routine. 🌾🐴
A simple management step that can help support horses prone to gastric ulcers. Note this is not a treatment

✨ Introducing Lucky Let Loose – “Lucky” ✨
Meet Lucky, a solidly built 14.3hh Standardbred gelding by Creatine.
At just 3 years old, Lucky didn’t make it to the races due to a lack of ability, giving him the perfect opportunity to start a new career.
He arrived with us today and has settled in beautifully, already making friends with our little Shetlands and taking everything in his stride. He has a lovely, relaxed attitude and has made a fantastic first impression.
Lucky will begin his under-saddle education this coming week, follow for updates or pm me if interested
