On July 1st 2000, I registered and became self-employed. I had already been working for bands for a while,but I knew I'd make it my full-time job soon.
I still remember what I told myself when I started: "The day this work feels like a job. I'll quit and get a 'real job'". And now, over 30 years later, I'm still going strong, happily, and confidently.
And no, I don't think that working in the live music industry isn't a "real job", but I used what society, generally speaking, thinks of working in this industry.
