🗣️ Roberto De Zerbi: “When we signed Carlos from Lille, I saw something that was difficult to teach. He was young, but he had the mentality of a player who wanted to dominate the midfield. The power, the aggression, the ability to carry the ball and recover it these qualities were already there.

“People compare midfielders differently. Kanté had incredible anticipation and could cover the whole pitch. Pedri has extraordinary technique and intelligence. Caicedo is fantastic at winning the ball and controlling space. But Baleba has a combination that is very rare.

“He can defend like a midfielder, carry the ball like a player who wants to attack and use his physical strength to completely change the rhythm of a game. When he starts driving forward, you can feel the opponent’s midfield going backwards.
