EXCERPTS FROM THE SERMON (05/07/2026)
TEXT: Ephesians 2:8-9
TOPIC: AMAZING GRACE OF GOD IN THE FAMILY
PREACHER: Rev. Samson Ananias
The family is God's first institution, established long before governments, kingdoms, or nations came into existence. The strength of any government or nation is ultimately dependent on the strength of its families.
The failure of society and the nation at large is, therefore, a reflection of the failure of the family.
For the family to remain strong and thrive in these challenging times, it must depend on the grace of God. Human wisdom, financial resources, and good intentions alone are not enough to sustain a family through life's pressures and uncertainties.
The grace of God produces forgiveness within the family. Where God's grace is at work, hearts are softened, offenses are released, and reconciliation becomes possible. Grace empowers family members to forgive one another just as God has forgiven them.
The grace of God does not take away life's storms; rather, it gives us the strength and wisdom to navigate them. Challenges will come, but grace enables us to remain steadfast, make godly decisions, and persevere without losing hope.
* Grace produces forgiveness in the family. (Proverbs 16:18).
* Grace produces humility in the family.
* Grace provided strength in times of turmoil.
Every marriage will, at one point or another, experience challenging seasons. These seasons are not necessarily signs of failure but opportunities for growth, deeper trust, and greater dependence on God. During such times, husbands and wives must resist the temptation to rely solely on their own understanding.
