NA-ROYAL FOOTBALL ACADEMY TO TRADE TACKLES WITH DOHZ FA IN NLO OPENER

The 2026 National League One (NLO) has commenced at the George Innih Stadium in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. According to the fixtures table, fifteen teams will compete for the playoff slots from two groups, to finally determine which team gains promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL).

NA-Royal Football Academy will trade tackles with Dohz FA on Sunday, 19th April by 4PM, Gaa-Akanbi FC on Saturday, 25th April by 4PM, Ka'ah FC on Sunday, 3rd May by 2PM, Barrier FC on Sunday, 10th May by 2PM, Offa FC on Sunday, 24th May by 4PM, and Laycon FA on Friday, 29th May by 2PM.

Speaking ahead of the opener, the Sporting Director, Alhaji Funsho Muhammed said: “This is what we’ve prepared for. The NLO is a serious platform, and our boys are ready to compete. We ask our fans to come out and support these young talents as they represent the academy and the state with pride.”

Head Coach, Ahmed Bolaji added: “We respect every team in this group, but we fear none. We’ve worked on our shape, our mentality, and our finishing. Starting with Dohz FA will be a good test. The target is simple, take it one game at a time and fight for maximum points.”

Team Captain Muhammed Alasa also shared his thoughts: “The mood in camp is positive. We know the NLO is tough, but we trust our coaches and each other. We’re going onto that pitch on Sunday to play NA-ROYAL styled football — disciplined, brave, and together. We’ll make the people of Ilemona and our supporters accross the globe proud.”

NA-ROYAL FOOTBALL ACADEMY DAZZLE AT GLOBAL PATHWAY SCOUTING PROGRAMME

NA-ROYAL Football Academy are making their mark at the second edition of the Global Pathway Scouting Programme, currently underway at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl in Ilorin. The lads thrashed Dollyp Football Academy by three goals to one on day one, and traded tackles with Agbelle Sporting Academy in a tense encounter which ended in a one-all draw earlier today.

The scouting programme, which kicked off on 13th April 2026, has drawn young talents and top academies from across the country. NA-ROYAL Football Academy arrived with a strong contingent of players, coaches, and technical staff, all eager to showcase the skill, discipline, and tactical growth the academy has been building over the past year.

Sessions so far have included fitness tests, technical drills, and competitive match play under the watchful eyes of local and international scouts, with Super Eagles Assistant Coach & former Remo Stars Technical Adviser, Coach Daniel Ogunmodede also on ground to monitor proceedings. Some NA-ROYAL players have already caught attention with their sharp passing, composure under pressure, and attacking flair.

Team captain and central defender Ahmed Alasa shared his excitement: “We’ve been working for this moment. Every training session back home was for chances like this. I’m just focused on playing my game and helping the team win.”

The Sporting Director, Alhaji Funsho Muhammed, praised the organizers for the professional setup, noting that exposure to high-level scouting is crucial for grassroots development.

NA-ROYAL’s head coach, Ahmed Bolaji, described the programme as “a vital pathway for our boys to transition from potential to opportunity.” He added that beyond scouting, the event is helping players learn professionalism, teamwork, and the demands of top-tier football.

The Global Pathway Scouting Programme continues throughout the week, with more matches and assessments lined up. For NA-ROYAL Football Academy, the goal is clear: impress the scouts, gain valuable experience, and open doors for their players to progress to national and international stages.
