Preacher: Pastor Fome Kings-Jack
Sermon Title: THE NEW
Texts: Joshua 1:1, Matthew 16:18
Introduction
Joshua 1:1 (KJV)
"Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying."»
Sermon Summary
1. The New Does Not Erase the Old
The arrival of something new does not mean the old was useless or without value. Rather, the new builds upon what already exists and brings it into greater fulfillment.
Jesus spoke to Peter and declared in Matthew 16:18
"And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church..."
Peter was not discarded; instead, a new dimension of his life and calling was about to emerge.
Key Point
a) The new is God's way of revealing greater purpose.
b) God does not dishonor the old; He advances it.
2. The New Adds Value to the Old
Using the illustration of a relay race during the Commonwealth Games, Pastor explained that when the baton is passed from one runner to another, the first runner is not disqualified. Instead, their effort contributes to the team's victory. Likewise, God's new season does not invalidate the previous one—it builds upon it. Every season prepares you for the next.
3. Joshua Received a New Assignment
Joshua 1 shows that although Moses was a mighty prophet, God instructed Joshua to arise and lead Israel. This did not mean Moses had become irrelevant, God simply ushered in a new assignment.
Key Point
a) New assignments does not diminish previous servants.
b) God raises people for different seasons.
4. God Calls People into the New
God called Abraham to leave his country.
Genesis 12:1 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country... unto a land that I will shew thee." Where Abraham lived was not necessarily bad but God was simply inviting him into something greater. Notice that God's call often requires movement and it begins with obedience.
5. God Funds What He Calls
Whenever God introduces you to a new season, He also provides everything necessary to accomplish His purpose. God never sends people without equipping them.
Key Point
a) God's assignment comes with God's provision.
b) Grace follows divine instruction.
6. The New Order Carries God's Authority
God gave Moses a fresh assignment to deliver Israel from Egypt. During the confrontation with Pharaoh, the rods of Pharaoh's magicians became snakes, yet Moses' rod swallowed them all.
Exodus 7:12 demonstrated the superiority of God's power and emphasizing that the new order operates with divine authority, overcomes every counterfeit.
7. Jesus Introduces the New
Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman. In John 4, Jesus intentionally met the woman to transform her life. The woman who once hid in shame became bold enough to evangelize her city after encountering Christ.
Key Point
a) The new removes shame.
b) Encountering Jesus produces boldness.
As new creations in Christ, believers are no longer defined by their past but are called to walk in victory, purpose, and God's power. Halleluyah!

Topic: THE NEW PASSING OF THE BATON: GOD DOES NOT DISCARD, HE ADVANCES
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
"Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan..." — Joshua 1:1-2 (KJV)
TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL
Hear the Word of the Lord: nothing in this universe is greater than the unadulterated Word of God! The explosive testimonies we witness in our services are raw evidence that the Word of the Lord is sharp, powerful, and life-transforming. When God speaks, environments change and seasons shift.
But I need you to settle a critical Kingdom truth in your heart today: the arrival of something new does not mean your old season was useless or without value.
Many people misjudge God, thinking that when He introduces a new dimension, He is throwing away their past. Far from it! God does not dishonour the old; He advances it into greater fulfillment.
When Jesus spoke to Peter in Matthew 16:18 and declared that He would build His church upon this rock, Peter was not discarded. Rather, a fresh, deeper dimension of his life and calling was being structurally unveiled.
Think of a high-speed relay race in the Commonwealth Games. When the first runner sprints with all their might and passes the baton to the next runner, that first runner is not disqualified or deemed irrelevant. No! Their maximum effort becomes the very foundation for the team’s ultimate victory. Every single season you have survived was a divine laboratory preparing you for what is next.
Look at Joshua. Moses was a towering, mighty prophet, but a time came when God told Joshua to arise. This did not diminish Moses' global legacy; it simply meant heaven had released a new assignment for a new season.
When God called Abraham out of his father's house in Genesis 12, where he lived wasn't evil; God was simply inviting him into something greater.
Stop crying over the past. God is simply calling you to move! And remember: whatever God calls you into, He funds!
DREAM BIG, GOD CAN FUND IT!!
God never sends a man without equipping him. His assignments always come wrapped in supernatural provision and anointing!
PRAYER AND MEDITATION
Meditation: Refuse to downplay your past experiences. How is my previous season serving as the foundation for the new territory God wants me to conquer?
Prayer: Father, thank You for bringing me into a new season of grace and purpose. Give me the courage to obey every instruction that leads me into this fresh frontier. I break free from the trap of looking backward, and I thank You because Your heavy provision follows Your instruction in my life in Jesus' name. Amen!
DAILY CONFESSION/DECLARATION
1. I declare that the Word of God is the ultimate authority over my life and circumstances!
2. I refuse to look back in regret; my past seasons have prepared me for my current glory!
3. I am not discarded by God; I am being advanced into a greater dimension of purpose!
4. I receive the baton of my new assignment with bold faith and spiritual speed!
5. I declare that because God has called me, He is fully funding my vision and destiny!
6. I will not freeze in transit; I step out in absolute obedience to divine instructions!
7. I break free from the limitations of previous seasons and I match into my larger territory!
8. The grace of God is multiplied upon me to execute every task assigned to my hands!
9. I am heavily equipped by the Spirit of God to win battles and possess my promised land!
10. I am moving forward, I am stepping up, and my foundation is secured in Christ in Jesus’ name, AMEN!

DAY 8
Theme: THE NEW
Written by Evangelist Fome KINGS-JACK

Topic: THE NEW IN BAPTISM: EMBRACING THE WATER BEFORE THE FIRE
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
"Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins… but they put new wine into new wineskins." — Matthew 9:17 (KJV)
"And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness." — Matthew 3:15 (KJV)
TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL
Hear this truth and settle it in your heart: the new season absolutely requires a new skin! You cannot carry what heaven is about to pour out if you are still wrapped in your old skin. The old skin cannot sustain the weight of the new wine. If you genuinely desire the new, you must be willing to completely lay aside the old.
As leaders, we must embrace the total Ministry of Jesus—not just His explosive power, but also His strict process! One of the greatest dangers in leadership is assuming that because you carry a title, you have already embraced the new.
It is tragically possible to lead a flock while operating from an outdated season, fanning dead fires. Before Jesus was publicly unveiled, heaven demanded a process: baptism. He had wisdom and amazed the rabbis at a young age, yet His public ministry could not launch without the process.
John the Baptist explicitly declared that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire. Why then did the Lord of fire submit Himself to water baptism? Because the process matters! Water comes before fire. Water purifies, cleanses, sanctifies, and brings renewal.
Many leaders desperately crave the fire but blindly skip the water. We celebrate power but overlook purification. We desire public manifestation but fiercely resist inner transformation.
Child of God, do not bypass the process! Stay on the line where God is washing, purifying, and aligning you. The water experience produces brokenness, humility, and sharpens your spiritual hearing.
Notice the divine order: immediately after baptism, Jesus was led by the Spirit. Purification came before leading! If you truly desire to lead your flock, your home, your career, and your finances into the new this August, you must first be led. YOU MUST BE LED SO YOU CAN LEAD!
PRAYER AND MEDITATION
MEDITATION: What did the Holy Spirit speak to you through today’s counsel? Am I resisting the water of purification while demanding the fire of manifestation?
PRAYER: O Lord, grant me the grace to remain on the line and embrace your process. Wash me, purify me, and break every trace of pride in my life. Holy Spirit, baptize me afresh, deliver me from an old wineskin, and lead me so that I can effectively lead and impact my world in Jesus' mighty name. Amen!
DAILY CONFESSION/DECLARATION
1. I declare that I am stripping off every old skin to receive the new wine of God!
2. I submit myself completely to the divine process of purification and transformation!
3. I refuse to skip the water phase; I allow God to cleanse and renew my spirit!
4. I reject the deception of leading others while operating in an old spiritual season!
5. I receive the grace of humility and brokenness under the dealings of the Holy Ghost!
6. My spiritual hearing is sharpened as I remain on the line of divine alignment!
7. I declare that I am led by the Spirit, and because I am led, I will effectively lead!
8. The new thing of God is appearing forcefully in my home, marriage, and relationships!
9. I command a financial and career shift as I walk in alignment with heaven's process!
10. I am thoroughly prepared by God to powerfully influence my flock and my world in Jesus mighty name, AMEN!
