NFA Southern Stream First Division Clubs Set to Elevate Through Administrative Workshop

Windhoek, Namibia — In a significant move towards professionalizing football management within the Southern Stream First Division, the recent SSFD Administration Workshop concluded with a strong call for knowledge transfer and sustainable development.

The closing ceremony, led by Roberta Jossop, a respected member of the SSFD Executive Committee, emphasized the importance of translating workshop insights into actionable club practices.

Jossop, who also participated as a fellow club administrator, addressed the gathering with enthusiasm and a clear message.

“Over the past few days, we have gathered with a shared objective: to strengthen the administrative capacity of our clubs and to professionalize the way we manage football within our stream,” she stated.

Her speech highlighted the high levels of engagement, openness, and commitment demonstrated by participants, reflecting a collective readiness to evolve and meet the standards set by the Namibia Football Association (NFA).

The workshop covered a broad range of critical areas, including governance, compliance, documentation, communication, and operational planning.

Jossop underscored that these are not merely theoretical concepts but practical tools essential for daily club management.

“The knowledge and skills acquired here must not remain with individuals,” she emphasized. “They must be transferred, shared, and embedded within your entire club structures.”

She urged club representatives to act as catalysts for change within their organizations.

“You have not attended this workshop for personal development alone. You are here as representatives of your clubs, carrying the responsibility to train, mentor, and guide your fellow committee members, technical teams, and support staff,” she said.

The goal, she explained, is to create a culture where knowledge is widely distributed, moving away from a model where information is hoarded.

The benefits of this approach, Jossop explained, include strengthened governance, improved compliance with NFA regulations, enhanced operational efficiency, and building clubs that can sustain success beyond individual leadership. She also pointed out that the true measure of the workshop’s success will be in the implementation and dissemination of knowledge at the club level, rather than mere attendance.

The SSFD Executive Committee expressed its commitment to ongoing support, but the ultimate responsibility for transformation rests with the club administrators themselves.

“Let us remain connected, support one another, and continue sharing best practices beyond this workshop,” Jossop urged.

She concluded with a rallying cry for participants to return to their clubs as ambassadors of good governance, exemplars of administrative excellence, and leaders committed to knowledge transfer.

“Together, we can elevate the Southern Stream First Division to greater heights,” she affirmed.

As the workshop closed, the message was clear: sustainable growth and professionalism in football management depend on a shared vision, continuous learning, and collective effort. The initiative sets the stage for a more structured, compliant, and competitive league, promising a brighter future for Namibia’s football at the grassroots level.
