I spent 38 days offshore Miri on jack-up drilling rig Icon Caren as HSE Trainer/Coach, ConocoPhillips Sarawak drilling campaign. Everyone called me “Cikgu” on the rig! I take it as an honourable title. Also, with this title, I usually get more special treatment when come to food, as served by catering crew who are also my students.

Apart from sharing HSE knowledge both theoretical and practical, I’d made some long lasting friendship with many rig crews. Thanks to client’s leader who gave me “Excellent” evaluation for my training onboard, which gave me assurance and confidence in what I’m doing passionately.

I am glad to collaborate with Magni Sutera Resources Sdn Bhd to train and help increase HSE awareness of offshore rig crew, based on my humble offshore experience and safety competencies, to reduce the risk of accident offshore. It is my passion to see everyone able to come to work and return to their family safely and enjoy the fruits of their hardwork.

GAGAL MEMBUAT PENAKSIRAN RISIKO BAHAN KIMIA BERBAHAYA KEPADA KESIHATAN, MAJIKAN DIDENDA RM5,000.00

W.P. Labuan, 24 Jun 2022 – Hakim Mahkamah Majistret Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, Yang Arif Kasyfurrahman Bin Abang Ahmad telah menjatuhkan hukuman denda sebanyak RM5,000.00 atau 6 bulan penjara jika gagal berbuat demikian terhadap Kejuruteraan Mega Niaga Sdn Bhd selepas mengaku bersalah ke atas pertuduhan gagal membuat penaksiran bertulis mengenai risiko yang terhasil daripada bahan kimia iaitu Hardtop AX Comp A atau cat, Hardtop AX Comp B atau pengeras, Pilot II atau cat, dan CHT711 atau rod kimpalan arka kepada kesihatan pekerja, lebih kurang jam 10.00 pagi bertempat di Lot 8, Tapak IKS, Jalan Rancha-Rancha 87008, Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan.

Majikan iaitu Kejuruteraan Mega Niaga Sdn Bhd telah melakukan kesalahan di bawah Peraturan 9(1), Peraturan-Peraturan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (Penggunaan dan Standard Pendedahan Bahan Kimia Berbahaya Kepada Kesihatan) 2000 dan boleh dihukum mengikut Seksyen 51, Akta Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan 1994.

Pendakwaan telah dikendalikan oleh Pegawai Pendakwa dari Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (JKKP) W.P Labuan, Puan Azlita Binti Aziz dan dibantu oleh Tuan Syed Mohd Puad Bin Syed Ishak. Kes tersebut disiasat oleh pegawai dari JKKP W.P. Labuan, Encik Shairazy Bin Alluwie dan dibantu oleh Encik Muhamad Rahmad Bin Rojahan.

Bagi kesalahan itu, tertuduh didakwa mengikut Peraturan 9(1), Peraturan-Peraturan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (Penggunaan dan Standard Pendedahan Bahan Kimia Berbahaya Kepada Kesihatan) 2000 dan boleh dihukum mengikut Seksyen 51, Akta Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan 1994 dan apabila disabitkan, boleh didenda tidak melebihi sepuluh ribu ringgit atau dipenjara selama tempoh tidak melebihi satu tahun atau kedua-duanya dan, dalam hal kesalahan yang berterusan, boleh didenda tidak melebihi satu ribu ringgit bagi tiap-tiap hari atau sebahagian daripada sehari semasa kesalahan itu berterusan selepas sabitan.

Working At Height Awareness Training (Online) was successfully conducted for staff of BESTRO Engineering Sdn Bhd., Shah Alam, Selangor.

It’s my great honour to be invited by UiTM Shah Alam Faculty of Applied Science to share a lecture on CHRA with their degree students BSc (Industrial Hygiene Technology & Safety). This is part of their Industry Collaborative Teaching programme. Great Thanks to Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nor Suhaila for this great opportunity. I enjoyed the sharing session with about 50 students this morning. Look forward for more knowledge sharing sessions with younger generation in near future.
