You don’t need a marathon on your calendar or a competition to train for.
Showing up for your future self is enough of a reason to start strength training.
More than just building muscle. It protects your:
- heart 🫀
- bones🦴
- blood sugar🩸
and your ability to live independently well into old age.
And with almost 1 in 3 Malaysians being physically inactive, there’s never been a more important time to start. You don’t have to be an athlete to start training, because your health actually depends on it.

What used to be a form of punishment, has now become a central part of his wellbeing and career. 🥹
Meet Shaun! A mini painting hobbyist, blessed with luscious locks, and has a knack for making sure you feel at home in your own body. Passion, intention and empathy are core values in his coaching. Because it’s not just about the
knowledge, but also the ability to understand and communicate well. 🗣️

This is what it means to have a coach that builds a program around your starting point 📍
Coach Alex’s approach to training with Jillian all starts from understanding her specific needs and goals. Getting to know her schedule, hobbies and lifestyle habits — so that every
movement, adjustment and conversation is intentional in creating a system that works for Jillian.
This is the level of care and challenge our coaches aim to deliver. Not just a coach who programs and shows up, but the thought process and intention behind every decision made for you before you even step foot into the studio.

Is there such a thing as “perfect form”?
When two different people perform the same exercise, there might be slight differences in stance. But both can be doing it right.
Everyone’s body is different. Your hip structure, limb length, and mobility all influence how a movement should look on your body. Forcing yourself into a position you’re not built for doesn’t mean you’re doing it correctly — it’s how things go wrong.
Rather than chasing “perfect form”, think of form as a framework, not a fixed shape.
A good coach doesn’t fit you into a mould. They find what works for you. And that’s the difference between following a generic program and having a personalized program built by a coach who actually knows how you move.

Self-image isn’t a topic we talk about enough.
In MOVE The Needle Podcast ‘s latest episode, Aishah Sinclair shared vulnerably about what it was like growing up with the societal standards of what looked “good”.
Staying fit and healthy isn’t just about looking a certain way, it’s way more than vanity metrics. We train for strength, mobility, and how your body is going to carry you through the years to come. Not for the mirror, not for society, but for yourself.
That’s the MOVE difference. Training so that you stay strong for life! 🫶🏻

84% of Malaysian adults aren’t training for fitness or sport. Here’s what the research says they’re missing 👉
A landmark study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that just 30–60 minutes of strength training a week is associated with significantly lower risk of major non-communicable diseases. Not hours. Not daily sessions. Less than most people think.
The barrier was never time. It’s not knowing where to start or having the right structure around you to stay consistent.
That’s the gap MOVE was designed to close. A coach who knows your baseline, a programme built around your life, and 60 minutes that actually count.

A lot of people come to us for a fitness goal. But what they didn’t expect was how much it helped with their stress regulation.
Research backs this up. Multiple 2025 studies confirm that exercise, strength training in particular, can consistently reduce cortisol and improve stress regulation.
But understanding the science was never the hard part. Making the decision to start is. And starting with the right structure around you is what makes it sustainable in the long run!
