Today our team rescued 2 Spinner sharks entangled in ropes.
We are glad our team was in the right place at the right time to rescue both sharks, if you watch the footage it might appear the first one didn't make it from the way it sank to the bottom. This is because Spinner sharks like most sharks, need to swim constantly to get oxygen and not being able to do that will put them in a coma-like state (hypoxia) due to oxygen deprivation but they can recover from this state and we can gladly confirm both sharks survived and is swimming free in the ocean.
The second one swam away faster likely it was in the state of "tonic immobility" which is a state sharks enter once turned upside down and they can easily recover once the position changes.
