Can’t wait to run on this road 🏃‍♂️

A 1:40 half marathon at Maldives Half Marathon today. Unlike other races, I didn’t stop at any water points (carried all the nutrition I needed) and didn’t walk at all. I ran even splits for 18kms before pushing the pace over the final 3kms to the finish. I barely checked my Garmin, just the occasional glance at HR, which I kept in the 150s, averaging 159 for the race.

It started raining 10 minutes in with continuous downpour to the finish line. Running through the puddles was actually fun. A well-executed run overall. I held back on purpose, still recovering from the recent Ironman 70.3 and with another swim race next weekend.

The event was very well organized despite the conditions, and the course itself was great. Well done to Coach Shujau and irunners team for putting on a great race. Until the next one, keep running!
