I have complete stories ...
Because of the route my ceramic works take in being created , I know how shapes and surfaces came into being ... there are hundreds of small and big decisions made in the concept, designing, throwing, turning, drying, firing, glazing stages .. and once the final items comes out of the kiln I sit with them and hear all that chatter going on which preceded their appearance, but an audience will only see a plate ...
It's journey then continues as it's put into use ... ❤️

A twirl on the first day of July ... I just took three serving bowls from the kiln, this is the first , ready for a good dose or salad (or grass as it's known in our house) ..

Ive been really lazy with posting on my ceramics page, it comes at the bottom of my to do list, not that I don't enjoy keeping in touch with people, just that there seems so many social media commitments these days .... today, ceramics from my kitchen ❤️

I've been designing and creating functional ware for Bahia Restaurant since 2016, before they opened their doors in Lija (Malta), and subsequently since 2022 in their new home at Corinthia Palace Hotel ... in their original space they had a Bahia orange tree, after which they are named, and I created a textured surface from its leaves that became a subtle background on one of their main plates and a side plate.... I'm just revisiting that design for them, and reliving the story .... ❤️
