The Malta Baseball & Softball Association has taken note of recent news regarding the proposed new football stadium and the mention of baseball facilities within the project.

We would like to clarify that, as the governing body for baseball and softball in the Maltese Islands, we have not been contacted, consulted, or involved in any discussions related to this project. We became aware of these developments only today through the media.

At this stage, we do not have any information on what this means for our sport or how, if at all, baseball and softball would be effected. This adds uncertainty to an already challenging situation.

Currently, our access at Marsa remains limited, which continues to significantly restrict the development of our sport and the opportunities we can provide to our players, particularly the younger generation.

Baseball and softball in Malta deserve clarity, planning, and a long-term vision not uncertainty.

Slowpitch action continues this Saturday at the Marsa Baseball and Softball Field with a slate of 3 games featuring the Mellieha Northenders, the Sliema Patriots and the Brewers Softball Team.

Mellieha hosts the Patriots at noon while the Patriots take on the Brewers at 1.30pm. Finally, the Brewers will host the Northenders at 3pm to wrap up a slowpitch-filled day.
