What happens!?
Thereâs actually good evidence in stopping weight loss programs, and weight gain coming back within the year.
Regardless the weight loss intervention ( medical, surgical, or just lifestyle) the weight re-gain stays pretty consistent following one year post and continues.
In the Biggest Loser study with Jillian Michaels - contestants regain 70% of the weight they lost over those 6 years , and their metabolism stayed suppressed.
The biggest questions in weight loss are not just does it work, it becomes a question of
1. is it sustainable?
2 Are we addressing whatâs causing the metabolic the issues?
3. Whatâs adherence look like after interventions?
4. Variables like eating disorders
Outside of inflammatory bio markers ( which is a form of weight we see on the scale ) - could long term peptide use be the answer?are life long treatments what weâre aiming for?
My question , is if we have peptides and hormone therapy more widely accessible now , are we seeing increases in infertility rates? Or lower onset of puberty or perimenopause at younger ages?
Because if not- weâre not addressing all the variables thatâs causing us to be here in the first place with lowering infertile rates - and higher disease rates.
Obesity and metabolism isnât just how large you are.
Itâs fertility and population.
What are your thoughts? đ

Research consistently shows that many people can achieve meaningful weight loss.
The more difficult question is:
Can that weight loss be maintained over the long term?
This is where decades of research remind us that weight regulation is far more complex than simply âeating less.â
Long-term outcomes are influenced by many factors, including:
âïž Changes in appetite and hunger hormones
âïž Metabolic adaptation
âïž Muscle mass
âïž Physical activity
âïž Sleep
âïž Stress
âïž Nutrition quality
âïž The food environment
âïž Ongoing medical and behavioral support
GLP-1 medications are an important advancement for many people and can be highly effective when appropriately prescribed. Like other interventions, however, they work within a broader picture of long-term health. Evidence to date suggests that many individuals regain some weight after stopping treatment, which highlights the importance of developing sustainable habits and individualized long-term care alongside any therapy.
My goal isnât to convince you that one treatment is better than another.
My goal is to help women understand how their metabolism works so they can make informed decisions with their healthcare team and build habits that support their health for yearsânot just weeks.
