Very proud that RCL Touch Laurence Cortey was awarded the most valuable referee at the Euro youth Championships at Warwick Uni this week. This come off the back of her stint at the euros in Vichy. What a tremendous contribution to Touch in Luxembourg and to her club at Rugby Club Luxembourg

We have been LUNEX this week working with Flynn on a programme with the BSC students in Sports & Exercise Science on how to coach sport to young people in a fun, engaging and playful way. Using Touch Footy as the platform in our first session we showed how in 15mins, from no understanding of the sport, they could go via a walking game to playing a flat out full game of touch. Jon then ran sessions to develop their coaching skills of the sport. It was brilliant to see how Jon threw them into a coaching situation, expecting them to use their common sense and other sporting experiences to design and then run a Touch session. Jon is a real expert, and then pulling out the the groups elements they could add or take away to make the activity more engaging, achieving greater learning. Each session he ran was very different, because the coaching needs were different which meant that for the participants time literally flew by. Now that is one good indicator of an expert coach/facilitator.

Big thanks to Carson and Andrade for making this such an enjoyable programme. This work is part of the outreach programmes that RCL Touch, part of Rugby Club Luxembourg, does to promote the sport of Touch.

We are immensely proud that Daniel Fahy-O'Connell and Laurence Cortey will be representing Luxembourg as referees at the forthcoming European Touch Championships in Vichy. They both have worked incredibly hard over the last 5 years, officiating at Federation International Touch events in Europe and the UK, building their knowledge and experience as they look to achieve Level 4 status at the tournament.

The contribution they are both making to the development of Touch in Luxembourg can not be underestimated. As players and members of RCL Touch, they have helped to dramatically increase the knowledge of club members from beginners to internationals. They regularly support our Mixed Team in the Touch Belgium National League. They have put a ref development programme in place that supports Rugby Club Luxembourg Super Series Mixed touch league in the summer. We thank them for their contribution and look forward to seeing them perform at tournament that represents the pinnacle of our sport in Europe.

Today we would like to celebrate that Antoine Pfaltzgraff of RCL Touch Lightning will be at the Euro's in July playing for the French Senior's Mixed team. This is a tremendous achievement for Antoine who has been a leading player in the Luxembourg M30 team, having played in 2 previous Euros and the 2024 World Cup. It shows us that we have built a good playing knowledge of the sport in our community. Where we really struggle is in ex*****on and speed, so it is fantastic to see a Luxembourg player selected to represent one of the tournament's favourites for this division. We look forward to learning more about what it takes to play elite touch when he returns.

Senior Mixed Team Crowned Plate Champions — Best Result in Five Years

This Saturday, June 6th, our Senior Mixed team concluded the season in style by winning the competitive Plate Final at the Touch Belgium Mixed league 2025-26. After a solid 8–5 win over Boitsfort in the semifinal, the team confirmed its form with an 8–6 victory against Oudenaarde in the final.

This marks the team’s best performance of the past five seasons, a testament to the commitment, progress, and collective spirit shown throughout the year.

With the season now complete, the ambition for next year is clear: break into the Top 4 and compete for the top spots of the competitive league.

The team is growing, improving, and moving forward with confidence.

New players are welcome — join a group that’s building something strong and exciting.

Today we are celebrating that Elena Musiari's inclusion in the EuroStars Women's Open team at the European Touch Championships in Vichy in July. Elena joined RCL Touch Lightning as a social player new to the sport about 3 years ago. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, first playing for Lightning in the Touch Belgium mixed league and now playing in an Elite International Tournament. She plays like she lives life, fully committed, making a huge contribution with Rugby Club Luxembourg whenever she can and always with a smile on her face. We look forward to her returning from the Euro's ready to share her experiences as we build towards a women's elite international team.

Although sadly Touch Luxembourg is not sending a team to the European Touch Championships in Vichy this summer, we would like to celebrate our players and referee's who will be flying our flag.

First up Xénia Jégouzo who will be playing the Eurostars team in the Women's Open Division

Xenia has a Rugby background joining Rugby Club Luxembourg about 3 years ago and quickly established herself in the RCL Touch team that plays in the Touch Belgium Mixed league. Xenia bring her natural athleticism & skills to the game and has quickly built a very good understanding of the structures required to play International Touch. We look forward to her bring back new knowledge to our growing community after what we are sure will be a fantastic experience in Vichy.
