Hockey Players Parents Meeting 🏑

A successful parents meeting was held on 14th Dec 2024 at Zahira College, Mawanella. Organized by dedicated Old Boys, the event focused on appointing an official coach with parents’ support. A new Parents Committee for the U-14 team was also formed.

The college hockey team will proudly compete at the National Level Hockey Meet from 17th-20th Dec in Matale.

Zahira College Mawanella’s Under-16 Hockey Team Gains Valuable Experience at National Tournament (Division C)

The Under-16 Hockey team of Zahira College Mawanella got the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience at the Schools Hockey League Tournament, organized by the Federation and held in Matale from December 6 to 8, 2024.

This achievement was made possible through the dedicated support of the school’s Old Boys’ Association (OBA), the Sports Development and Events Committee (SDEC), and committed parents. Additionally, a group of alumni who once represented the school in hockey played a vital role in inspiring and guiding the young athletes.

Zahira College Mawanella and sylvester's college Kandy went head-to-head on the sylvester's college ground, From the Under 14's fresh energy to the Under 16's and 20's seasoned prowess, every match was a testament to passion, skill, and the love for the game, igniting the spirit of competition and sportsmanship.
