විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ශිෂ්‍යයෙකුගේ ජීවිතයේ, සිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය නියෝජනය කරමින් ලෝක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය ක්‍රීඩා තරගාවලියකට සහභාගී වීම යනු ජීවිතයේ එක් වරක් පමණක් හිමිවන සුවිශේෂී හා වටිනා අවස්ථාවකි.

එවැනි සුවිශේෂී අවස්ථාවක් හිමිව ඇති ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල වල ඉගෙනුම ලබන, බර ඉසිලීමේ ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන් පිරිසක්, වර්තමානයේ පවතින මූල්‍ය දුෂ්කරතා හේතුවෙන් දැඩි අසීරුතාවයකට මුහුණ දී සිටිති.

2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 08 සිට 13 දක්වා දෝහා, කටාර්හි පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත ලෝක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය බර ඉසිලීමේ තරගාවලිය සඳහා සහභාගී වීමට අවශ්‍ය වියදම් දැරීම සඳහා මේ වන විට කිසිදු මූල්‍ය අනුමැතියක් නොමැති තත්ත්වයක් යටතේ, සිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකාව නියෝජනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින්, මෙම දක්ෂ ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන්ට තම පෞද්ගලික මුදලින්ම මෙම ජාත්‍යන්තර තරගාවලිය සඳහා සහභාගී වීමට සිදුව ඇත.

🏋️‍♂️ ඔවුන් වසර ගණනාවක් පුරා කැපවීමෙන්, අඛණ්ඩව පුහුණුවීම් කරමින්, දහසකුත් බාධක මධ්‍යයේ තම හැකියාවන් වර්ධනය කරගෙන ඇත්තේ තම විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයත්, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවත් ජාත්‍යන්තර වේදිකාවක අභිමානයෙන් නියෝජනය කිරීමේ එකම අරමුණෙනි.

For a university student, representing their university at a World University Sports Championship is a once in a-lifetime opportunity a moment of immense pride, honour, and achievement.

A group of talented Sri Lankan university weightlifters who have earned this extraordinary opportunity are currently facing significant financial difficulties.

The World University Weightlifting Championships, scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar, from 8th to 13th September 2026, requires considerable financial commitment. At present, they have not received any financial assistance to cover the expenses of participating in this prestigious international competition.

Despite these challenges, these dedicated athletes are determined to represent their universities and Sri Lanka on the international stage. As a result, they are having to bear the expenses of participation from their own personal funds.

2026/07/31 වන දින කැලණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ පැවති අන්තර් විශ්ව විද්‍යාල බර ඉසිලීමේ තරඟයේදී, කිලෝ ග්‍රෑම් 65 බර පන්තියේ පිරිමි අංශයේ ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ සහෝදර ක්‍රීඩකයාගේ ක්ලීන් ඇන්ඩ් ජර්ක් (Clean & Jerk) එසවීම සම්බන්ධව ජාත්‍යන්තර බර ඉසිලීමේ සංගමයේ (IWF) නීති රීති අනුව විනිසුරු මඩුල්ලට පැවරී ඇති බලතල ප්‍රකාරව එම ඉසිලීම විනිසුරුවන් විසින් අසාර්ථක උත්සහයක් බවට ප්‍රකාශ කළහ.

නමුත් ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ පුහුණුකරු අභියෝගතා පත්‍රයක් (challenge card) නොමැතිව (ඔහු ඊට පෙර අභියෝගතා පත්‍රය (challenge card) වරක් රැගෙන තිබුනි) ජූරි සභාව වෙත ගොස් ජූරි සභාව සමග (ඔවුන් මිත්‍රත්වයෙන් පසුවේ) යම් සාකච්ඡාවකින් අනතුරුව එම ඉසිලීම නැවත සලකා බලා, ජූරි සභාවේ ඒකමතික තීරණය අනුව සාර්ථක උත්සහයක් බවට ප්‍රකාශ කරන ලදී.

ඉහත සඳහන් කොට ඇති ආකාරයට එම ක්‍රීඩකයා විසින් ඔසවන ලද ක්ලීන් ඇන්ඩ් ජර්ක් ක්‍රමයේ අවසන් උත්සාහයේ විනිසුරුවරු ලබාදුන් තීරණය අභිබවමින් ජූරිය සමග නීත්‍යානුකූල නොවන අයුරින් පුහුණුකරුගේ මැදිහත්වීමෙන් ලබාදුන් තීරණය සම්බන්ධයෙන් කණගාටුවෙන් යුතුව හෙලා දකිනා අතර මෙවැනි අසාධාරණ සහ තරග නීති උල්ලංඝනය කිරීම් ඉදිරියේදි සිදු නොවීමට අදා නිසි බලධාරීන් කටයුතු කරනු ඇතැයි අප මෙන්ම සමස්ථ බර ඉසිලීමේ ක්‍රීඩක ප්‍රජාව අපේක්ශා කරන අතර බර ඉසිලීමේ සංගමය වෙත අදාල පැමිණීලි සිදුකර ඇත.
