🥜 **Another Milestone for the Friends Ground Nut Project!** 🚜🌱

As part of the initiative to strengthen peanut farming and improve agricultural productivity, tractors were officially handed over today to farmer organizations from Galewela, Naula, Kobeyigane, Mahiyanganaya, and Rideemaliyadda at the Ministry of Agriculture premises.

The official handover ceremony was attended by the Hon. Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Deputy Minister of Agriculture, the Project Director, and the SAPP project team, who jointly presented the tractors to the respective farmer organizations.

Empowering farmers means strengthening the nation's agriculture. 💚🌾 Together, we continue to support farming communities and build a more productive and sustainable future.

ගලේවෙල, නාඋල, කොබෙයිගනේ, මහියංගනය සහ රීදීමාලියද්ද ප්‍රදේශවල රටකජු ගොවි සමිතිවල කෘෂිකාර්මික කටයුතු තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමේ අරමුණින් ලබාදෙන ට්‍රැක්ටර් යන්ත්‍ර නිල වශයෙන් භාරදීම අද දින කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්‍යාංශ පරිශ්‍රයේදී සාර්ථකව සිදු කෙරිණි.

මෙම අවස්ථාවට කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්‍යතුමා, නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යතුමා, ව්‍යාපෘති අධ්‍යක්ෂතුමා සහ SAPP ව්‍යාපෘතියේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය එක්ව ගොවි සංවිධාන වෙත මෙම යන්ත්‍ර නිල වශයෙන් භාරදෙන ලදී.

🌶️ Empowering Thirappane Farmers: Anuradhapura Chilli Project in Action! 🌶️

Taking a significant step toward modernizing local chilli cultivation and boosting crop yields, the latest phase of the "Anuradhapura Chilli Project" was successfully executed recently.

To introduce efficient water management and sustainable pest control methods, Sprinkler Irrigation Systems were installed and Insect-Proof Nets were distributed among the farming community in the Thirappane zone. 🌾✨

මෙහිදී තිරප්පනේ කලාපයේ ගොවි ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් ජලය සහ ශ්‍රමය ඉතිරි කරන විසුරුම් ජල සම්පාදන පද්ධති (Sprinkler Irrigation Systems) සවිකිරීම සහ වගාවන් කෘමි හානිවලින් ආරක්ෂා කරගැනීම සඳහා කෘමි විකර්ෂණ දැල් (Insect Proof Nets) බෙදාදීම සාර්ථකව සිදුකරන ලදී. 🌾✨

කිරි ගොවි කර්මාන්තය වඩාත් කාර්යක්ෂම කරමින් ගොවි ජනතාවගේ ජීවන තත්ත්වය උසස් කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පැලවත්ත ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ, තෘණ කැබලි කිරීමේ යන්ත්‍ර (Grass Chopping Machines) බෙදා දීමේ විශේෂ වැඩසටහනක් සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලදී.

අනුරාධපුර, කැකිරාව ප්‍රදේශයේ ප්‍රතිලාභී කිරි ගොවීන් 56 දෙනෙකු වෙනුවෙන් මෙම යන්ත්‍ර ලබා දීම සිදු කෙරුණු අතර, එමඟින් ඔවුන්ගේ සත්ව පාලන කටයුතු වඩාත් පහසු වනු ඇතැයි අප විශ්වාස කරමු! 🥛🌾

🌱 Empowering Dairy Farmers: Pelwatte Project in Action! 🌱

To enhance efficiency and support the daily operations of our dairy farming community, grass chopping machines were recently distributed under the Pelwatte Project.

This distribution program successfully took place in Kekirawa, Anuradhapura, benefiting 56 selected dairy farmers in the area. We believe these modern tools will greatly ease their animal husbandry activities and boost productivity! 🥛🌾

🌱 Empowering our Farmers: Maliban Soya Project in Action! 🌱

We are thrilled to share that multi-purpose weeding machines were recently distributed to the beneficiaries of the Maliban Soya Project, aiming to enhance efficiency and ease the cultivation process for our farming community.

The distribution successfully took place on the 10th and 11th of June 2026, covering the Galnewa, Thalawa, and Eppawala divisions.🌾✨

Together, we are building a stronger future for rural entrepreneurship and agricultural innovation.

The Youth Forum and Exhibition, named the ‘National Agripreneur Showcase and B2B Connect’ was highly successfully conducted by the Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme (SAPP) in Waters Edge and the Diyatha Uyana, Battaramulla, from 28 to 29 April 2026 with the objectives of enhancing market access, promoting business visibility, facilitating commercial partnerships, and strengthening entrepreneurial capacity among rural and youth-led enterprises which are helped by the SAPP program during the last 9 years since June 2017.

The Youth forum was held on 28th April 2026 with the participation of 400 youth; delegates of foreign donor agencies and government officials form agricultural and budgetary line agencies around the country. The Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was the chief guest for the youth forum that had several technical and entrepreneurial sessions to build social and youth confidence towards the agripreneurship, acknowledge the youth participation to agribusiness and increase the spillover of the SAPP proven practices to a higher scale that enhances the food security of the country.

The Exhibition of agri products and services of the SAPP youth in the agribusiness was really a memorable gathering that showcased the achievements of youth Agripreneurs, strengthened the partnerships, and created new opportunities for sustainable agribusiness growth in Sri Lanka.
