of Lao Esports on the International Stage
We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Mr. Somphachan Sengsilavong, the only International Esports Referee from the Lao Peopleโs Democratic Republic, who proudly represents Laos on the global esports stage.
As Lao esports continues to achieve growing success and recognition at both regional and international levels, many may not be aware that behind these achievements stands a key individual who has consistently contributed behind the scenes. He has played a vital role in providing professional technical opinions, upholding international standards, and continuously enhancing the reputation and image of Laos in the global esports community. That individual is Mr. Somphachan Sengsilavong,
Deputy Secretary-General and Head of the Referee Committee of the Lao Esports Federation (LESF).
Mr. Somphachan is the only esports referee from Laos to have received official International Referee certification from the International Esports Federation (IESF), the global and Asian governing body for esports. This certification represents the highest international standard in esports officiating and technical competition management.
Throughout his professional journey, he has continuously served as an International Technical Official (ITO) at major multi-sport events, including:
The 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in the Philippines
The 31st SEA Games in Vietnam
The 33rd SEA Games, hosted by Thailand, where he played a particularly significant and impactful role
In addition, he has contributed to numerous other esports competitions and international events, both in front of the stage and behind the scenes.
Furthermore, Mr. Somphachan is the only Lao national selected to participate in the Esports Referee Academe 2024, a prestigious international program dedicated to developing elite esports referees. The academy brings together experts from around the world and stands as a strong testament to his competence, professionalism, and the trust placed in him by international esports organizations.
Over the years, Mr. Somphachan has not only fulfilled technical and officiating responsibilities with excellence, but has also served as a key representative and ambassador of Laos, projecting professionalism, fairness, and integrity on the international esports stage. His dedication and commitment have significantly contributed to the credibility and global presence of Lao esports.
The achievements of Mr. Somphachan Sengsilavong are not merely a source of personal pride, but a national honor.
