Congratulations to Vihiga Cranes FC for edging past Musokoto Secondary School from Busia County to be crowned the Safaricom PLC CHAPA DIMBA Season 5 Western Region Boys Champions at Masinde Muliro Stadium, Kanduyi, Bungoma County today.

A historic achievement for our young talents and a proud moment for Vihiga County!

Our FKF Vihiga County Branch Chairman Michael Senelwa together with Youth Representative Isaiah Nyongesa were present to witness and celebrate this landmark victory.

Special appreciation to County Government of Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo for attending the match to offer moral support to the boys.

CONGRATULATIONS to our County Boys Category Champions, Vihiga Cranes FC, for a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Terem FC in the Safaricom PLC CHAPA DIMBA SEASON 5 REGIONAL SEMI-FINAL, earning their well-deserved place in TOMORROW's FINALS!

We also proudly celebrate our Girls Category Champions, Blue Commandos, for reaching the REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS. Your determination, talent and fighting spirit have made Vihiga proud.

35 COACHES SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE INTRODUCTORY AND CAF D REFRESHER COACHING COURSES IN VIHIGA

The week-long CAF Coaching Courses (Introductory and Refresher), facilitated by the FKF Vihiga County Branch, successfully concluded yesterday at Vihiga Friends HIGH School with 35 aspiring and practicing football coaches from across Vihiga County successfully completing the programme.

The participants were awarded certificates during the closing ceremony by Mr. Albert Masiolo, the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) National Organizing Secretary and Host Senior Principal, who represented the FKF Vihiga County Branch Chairman. He commended the coaches for their dedication to professional growth and their commitment to strengthening grassroots football development in the county.

Throughout the course, participants underwent intensive theoretical and practical training aimed at strengthening their technical knowledge, coaching expertise and leadership capacity in the following key areas:

✅ Introduction to Football Coaching
✅ Player Development and Talent Identification
✅ Training Session Planning and Organisation
✅ Laws of the Game
✅ Safety and Safeguarding in Football
✅ Basic Tactics and Team Management
✅ Communication and Leadership Skills

The successful completion of the course marks another significant milestone in enhancing coaching standards within Vihiga County.
By equipping coaches with modern football knowledge and practical skills, the programme is expected to strengthen grassroots football development, improve player nurturing and contribute to the continued growth of the beautiful game across the County.
