The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has announced a 20-player residential squad for the Malkia Strikers as preparations intensify for the 2026 African Volleyball Nations Championship, which Kenya will host from 22nd August to 5th September 2026 in Nairobi.

Following a week of intensive training and player assessment at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, the technical bench has trimmed the provisional squad from 25 to 20 players. The selected players will continue with residential training camp as they fine-tune their preparations for the continental championship.

Kenya and CAVB Unveil Official Logo for 2026 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship

Rabat Morocco, July 26, 2026 - The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF), in collaboration with the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), has officially unveiled the logo for the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship, marking another major milestone in preparations for the continental showpiece.

The championship, scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 23 August to 5 September 2026, will bring together Africa’s top women’s national teams to compete for continental honours and showcase the highest level of women’s volleyball on the continent.

The newly unveiled logo features the outline of the African continent, a stylized volleyball player in action, and the official colours associated with Kenya and African volleyball, symbolizing unity, excellence, and the growth of the sport across Africa.

The unveiling underscores Kenya’s readiness to host the prestigious championship, with organizers promising a world-class event that will celebrate African volleyball while inspiring the next generation of athletes.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) capped off an impressive Mozzart Kenya Cup 2026 campaign by claiming the Women's bronze medal after edging Kenya Prisons in a thrilling five-set playoff at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

DCI looked set for a comfortable victory after taking the opening two sets 25-22 and 25-23. However, the experienced Kenya Prisons side staged a remarkable comeback, dominating the third set 25-9 before narrowly winning the fourth 26-24 to level the match at 2-2.

The decisive fifth set lived up to expectations, with both teams trading points in a tense battle. Kenya Prisons led 8-6 at the change of ends, but DCI displayed resilience and composure in the closing stages. The scores were tied at 14-14, 15-15 and 16-16 before DCI found another gear to pull away and seal a dramatic 19-17 victory.

KVF Deputy President and Marketing Committee Chairman Mr. Paul Bitok today received a cash awards sponsorship for the 2nd Edition of the Mozzart Kenya Cup 2026 from Mr. Saša Krneta, Country Manager, Mozzart Bet Kenya.

Also present during the presentation were Neddy Talam (KVF NEC Member) and Mozzart Bet Kenya Marketing Manager, Frank Ochieng'.

The cash awards will be presented to the winners and runners-up of the 2026 Kenya Cup.

Paul Bitok thanked Mozzart for once again supporting the Kenya Cup, noting that their continued partnership is a major boost to the growth of Volleyball in Kenya.
