We loved hosting Finn Church Aid (FCA) Uganda and FCA Kenya at our Tengeneza na Somo production hub! ๐Ÿคโœจ

The team visited to study our model as they design a new womenโ€™s economic empowerment project. We shared how Somo scales agribusinesses through hands-on training, shared manufacturing space, and market linkages, while trading insights on what truly works to help women-led enterprises build sustainable livelihoods.

Exchanges like this ensure that future grassroots programs are built entirely around what entrepreneurs need to succeed.

When Miriam founded Touchรจ Kami Industries in 2023, she wanted to replace expensive cosmetic imports with affordable, locally manufactured alternatives. By leveraging the production floor, machinery, and tech tools at the Tengeneza na Somo facility, she de-risked her operations and scaled up fast. โš™๏ธ๐Ÿงด

The numbers speak for themselves:
๐Ÿ“Š 820+ retail products manufactured & sold
๐Ÿ’ผ 6 direct jobs created in the community

We are incredibly proud to see a Tengeneza-backed manufacturer taking center stage nationally. Tune in tomorrow to watch her story live! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŒ

We were thrilled to welcome Zayyad Alawy Said & Programs Manager Mariam Wachiuri from Hazina Group to our Tengeneza na Somo Production Hub.

True ecosystem impact happens when we co-create solutions. At Somo, our hub is designed to solve a massive bottleneck for micro-entrepreneurs: the crippling capital expenditure of machinery, space, and utilities. By providing pay-as-you-go access to commercial-grade infrastructure, we de-risk the value-addition process and help startups scale without heavy debt.

Seeing ecosystem players like Hazina Group align with our vision reinforces the power of shared infrastructure. We are incredibly excited about this partnership to provide deeper, more structured support for Kenyaโ€™s startup ecosystem.

Big things are cooking. Stay tuned!

We donโ€™t just share space,we build market-ready brands. ๐Ÿญ

For small manufacturers, "quality" is the biggest barrier to getting onto retail shelves. When the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) visited Tengeneza to feature our resident entrepreneur, Blesteire Beauty Investments Limited, it proved our model works!

Tengeneza is the operational engine that helps grassroots brands clear institutional hurdles. From our facility floors, we provide:
๐Ÿ’ช Industrial Infrastructure: Professional manufacturing space.
๐Ÿ”ฌ Expert Access: Direct support from production, branding, and packaging specialists.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Standardization: The exact tools needed to bridge the gap to formal KEBS certification.

Blesteireโ€™s success proves that with the right hub, local brands can compete at the highest level.

Happy Madaraka Day from the Tengeneza na Somo Production Hub!

True independence is built in the spaces where we create, manufacture, and add value to our own local resources. Today, our hub is closed as we celebrate the spirit of self-reliance that drives every local maker and entrepreneur in Kenya.

Enjoy the holiday, and let's get back to building tomorrow! ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ

Today, we honor the collective effort that drives transformationโ€”from the Entrepreneurs of Somo who lead local innovation to the partners whose commitment provides the foundation for scale.

Economic progress is a shared mission. It thrives on the grit of our founders and the strategic support that de-risks and professionalizes high-growth ventures. We celebrate everyone in our ecosystem working to build a more resilient and sustainable future.

Take a well-deserved rest today. Together, we continue building.
