OKM Foundation Football Tournament

10KM Cherangany Hills Peace and Conservation Race

The Cherish (Cherangany Hills Ecosystem Restoration for Livelihood Improvement, Sustainability and Harmony) and OKM Foundations will on Thursday, 21st May 2026 host the 10KM Cherangany Hills Peace and Conservation Race at Tebe Grounds in Kapyego Ward, Elgeyo/Marakwet County.

The event seeks to promote peace, environmental conservation and community cohesion through sports, while also creating awareness on the protection of the Cherangany ecosystem as Kenya marks the International Day for Biological Diversity 2026.

The race will be hosted by Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, EGH, Patron of the Cherish and OKM Foundations. Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNEP, H.E. Dr. Ida Odinga, will attend as Chief Guest, while world record holder Dr. Faith Kipyegon will serve as Race Ambassador.

The event will feature:
• 10KM elite race
• 5KM community race
• 2KM community race
• 2KM corporate challenge

Winners in the 10KM category will receive cash prizes, with all participants receiving awards.nning for a course.
