JUST IN: TIBEK CATTLE CAMP RAIDED

Bor Town, 9 August 2026 — Tibek cattle camp was reportedly raided this afternoon by armed gunmen believed to be from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

Initial reports indicate that more than 870 cattle were stolen during the raid.

Local youth have reportedly mobilized and are pursuing the attackers to recover the stolen cattle.

The situation remains developing, with more details expected.

RESCHEDULING OF MATHIANG PAYAM INAUGURATION

The Mathiang Payam Inauguration Organizing Committee wishes to inform the entire Pathuyith Community and general public that the inauguration of Mathiang Payam, which was scheduled for the first August 2026, has been rescheduled on the 22nd August 2026.

This decision was made out of respect following the sad and shocking passing of Mrs. Awel Arou Amol the wife Samuel Ateng Deng Chaw in Lira Uganda.

At that time, no new date was fixed in order to allow the bereaved family to bury and mourn with dignity. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family.

Following the burial and mourning period the family of Deng Chaw Mayen and Wut- Agok gave Pathuyith Community green line to continue with their activities and appreciated them for mourning and standing with them during their difficult times. Today on 8th August 2026 Chief Kuol Akuei Jok held a meeting at Garden Resort Hotel in Bor with chiefs and stakeholders in collaboration with Samuel Machar Ayuen Kuot Chairperson of Pathuyith Global Leadership agreed and promised 22nd August 2026 as the day of inauguration and proceed to Hon. Commissioner Samuel Ateny Pech Ariik who approved the date promptly to Pathuyith Community.

We kindly request all members of Pathuyith Community, state government, in-laws, friends and the entire Bor Community.

May the soul of our sister and mother Awel Arou Amol rest in external peace.
