If Michael Carrick must go with a false nine, then I think he should move Rashford into the middle, put Cunha back on the left and have Lacey or Mbeumo take the right.
Cunha has been more comfortable when he can start from the left, and he was our biggest attacking threat against Fulham before scoring the late equaliser from that side.
Rashford also had two good chances against Fulham, so putting him through the middle could give him a better position to attack the goal instead of asking him to create everything from wide areas.
Cunha playing on the left would also give us someone who can carry the ball inside and create space for the right winger, also Dorgu can play at the LB or LW, depending on the game.
Then Carrick can choose between Lacey and Mbeumo on the right depending on whether he wants more youth and unpredictability or more experience.
For me, this would give us a more natural front four while allowing Cunha and Rashford to play in positions where they can have a bigger impact. โค๏ธ
