⚽️ Goalkeeping is a specialty, not an afterthought.
After attending several school games, one concern stood out, the goalkeeping department. I witnessed goalkeepers being warmed up by individuals with little understanding of goalkeeper preparation, and it showed.
A goalkeeper is not just another player on the field. They require specialized training, proper warm-ups, technical development, and psychological preparation. The quality of a goalkeeper's performance often begins with the quality of their preparation.
If we want to develop better goalkeepers, we must first develop better goalkeeper coaching practices.
Let's give our young goalkeepers the attention, knowledge, and specialized training they deserve.
A goalkeeper deserves a goalkeeper coach.
