I still struggle to understand what grudge a boys' school coach could possibly have against a girls' team that will never even face his team in competition.

During yesterday's Chapadimba match at Naitiri Boys, it was disgraceful to witness a male coach of Naitiri Boys High School directing abusive language at schoolgirls, even going as far as making sexually offensive remarks. Such conduct has no place in school sports and is completely unbecoming of anyone entrusted with mentoring young people.

A coach should inspire, guide, and instill discipline not intimidate or abuse schoolgirls. Instead of targeting young female players, that energy would be better spent improving his team's performance. Since his appointment, the school has invested heavily in its football program, yet the results have hardly reflected that investment.

The school and the community deserve a coach who leads by example, not one whose behaviour brings embarrassment to the institution. Respect is earned through character, professionalism, discipline, and results not through insults, vulgar language, or bullying young girls. A coach's legacy should be built on achievements, not a loose mouth.

While I was away on official duties, our girls made us proud by defeating our sister team, Milima Queens, on penalties to be crowned Chapadimba Tongaren Constituency Champions. Congratulations to the entire team, the technical bench, and everyone who supported this remarkable achievement. Well done, champions! 🏆⚽
