The Alpine Course assessment is a mountain module within the Austrian WSSV/SSA coaching system, forming part of the pathway toward the Full Landes advanced qualification. In other words, it is not a standalone certificate, but a critical component of the senior coaching framework.

Passing the Alpine Course means you have completed and successfully passed training and assessments related to alpine environments, including:
✔ Alpine safety
✔ Snow conditions and avalanche basics
✔ Route planning
✔ LVS search and rescue
✔ Group movement and guiding capabilities

So what does this signify?
① You have completed alpine safety training under the Austrian system.
② It is a mandatory step toward obtaining Full Landes.
③ When applying for ski school positions, it serves as proof of advanced competency.
④ It demonstrates you have received training in route planning, snow condition assessment, LVS rescue, etc.
⑤ It can be used as a qualification reference for higher-level training or international coaching pathways.

However, please note:
It is not an all-purpose ”guide license.“ It is not directly equivalent to an ISIA Level 4, nor does it equate to an independent alpine guide license.

More precisely:
The Alpine Course certificate attests that you have completed training and examinations in alpine safety, route assessment, and group leadership within the Austrian ski/snowboard coaching system.
Specific work entitlements are still subject to the regulations of the respective country, ski school, and local laws

WSSV Ski & Snowboard Instructor Certification 🇦🇹
What makes a ski instructor different from an advanced skier?
It’s not only about skiing better.

A professional instructor needs to understand:
🎿 Technique
How movements, edges, pressure and balance work.
🎓 Teaching
How to explain skills and help others improve.
🏔 Adaptation
How to handle different terrain, snow conditions and situations.

The Austrian WSSV/SSA system is built around this complete pathway — combining skiing ability, teaching methodology and professional knowledge.
From Anwärter to Landes 1 and beyond, each level represents a new stage of instructor development.
2026–2027 courses are now open.
📩 Contact us to find the right level for your skiing journey.
