An anthropology project on sound in Japan We record sounds across the prefectures of Japan, covering a wide variety of themes.
Sonic Japan is a sound blog and sound map featuring ambient recordings and images that communicate sonic life in Japan. The sounds of aikido training at a dojo, of streetscapes in dense urban neighborhoods and of fish selling practices at the market are just a few of the fascinating scenes we've managed to capture.
